Ok just got back from shooting it outside of Vegas. Put 150 rounds through it and no hiccups. My last outing was playing around with a 1911 I was trying to set up for 45 super. This was a much more pleasant experience. It's basically a commander 1911 with a barrel bushing comp. The sights are great, grip is fine, trigger is better than I thought it would be. I will probably replace it at some point, but it is more than serviceable. As far as being loud, I honestly didn't notice it any more than normal with any handgun. It isn't like shooting a brake on a rifle at all. Hell, if I have to light it off in the house it's going to be life or death, so that isn't going to be a factor. Everyone is getting hearing damage, but I assume the other guy will get the bad end of things. Back to the shooting - that comp works really well with 10mm. I have a Canik TTI that I thought the comp works well on. I think this was better or at least on par. We shot PSA 10mm ammo out of it for the first 100 rounds and it ran smooth. Not violent at all. We then change to 40 round of norma nxd that is listed at 93 grains and 1740fps or something along those lines. Those were super soft shooting. My wife laughed when we changed over to them. I think that is what we are going with for defensive loads. Probably nothing but fiocchi and psa for practicing. Now the only issue is that I think i'm going to switch from 45 super/+p as my carry to 10mm. I'll probably try a different gun for carry, like maybe a sig x-ten comp, but I am super happy with this purchase. Very fun gun to shoot. I was lucky enough to have someone leave two pumpkins set up out there that only had maybe 5 pinholes in them. They are now all over the place. Last purchase was the TTI and now this. I'm on a good roll. I will definitely purchase a tisas again with no qualms whatsoever. I'll check back in at 1000 rounds if anything changes, but I really doubt it will. |
