I used to have a couple. They are indeed a touch wider than the 9mm version. I had an old Raven Phantom that would never release the pistol for that exact reason. JM Custom Kydex made me a AIWB holster that fit really well. I'm sure his other holsters would also.

Sig went to a single frame with the E2 grip/frame.
They standardized on the 40/357 frame. For your 229, look for M-11 holsters, or current 229R holsters. |

If you want to try one on the cheap, Crossbred Seconds has a few.
When it comes to kydex holsters by any maker, remember they used heat to form it, and so can you. The judicious employment of a heat gun should make any 9mm holster fit your .40/.357 just fine. Keyword: judicious. I picked up a couple mag holders from Crossbreed Seconds for a 9mm USP and warmed them carefully before thrusting my .40 mags in them. Fit like a glove now. |

OP, JM Custom Kydex makes correct holsters for 40/357 229s; I have a nice AIWB holster from them for it. |
