The 4” alloy gun carries so easy in a SS you don’t need a heavy belt.

The 4.25” steel frame, I use the good belt. Same holster.

5" Government usually in a Miami Classic II. Sometimes a Safari OWB paddle and once in a blue moon a generic IWB soft holster.

The MCII is undetectable in a suit or in loose casual clothes (tee with a shirt worn as a light, open jacket).

Not my daily anymore, but it was for over 2 decades...

Delta Elite in a Mitch Rosen ARG, with one of his belts as well.  Barely even noticed the weight.

Interested to hear how the the JM holster works out for you. I would appreciate a follow up once you get a chance

Got the holster and a JM dual mag pouch in the mail.  High ride, sits tight against the body with my Beltman belt.

I haven't added it to my CCW yet (CA laws and such), so I can only tell you that it seems great for the whopping 5 minutes I wore it with my Springfield Pro.

I'll properly review it once I add the gun to my CCW and can lawfully carry it.  I don't presently have any 1911's on my carry permit, so I need to qualify with the Pro, then do the paperwork to add it.

When you carry IWB, do you not have to wear an undershirt?  I tend to sweat in the summer a lot so would an undershirt be necessary?

Not for me, the less clothes the better in the summer in South Florida. I even resort to Tank Tops during July and August on some days. I own the business where I work and it is very casual dress for all. So I can wear whatever I want.

I take it you don't sweat.  That's my concern, sweating on the pistol.

I've sweat all over mine, both when carrying and at the range. Just have to maintain them a little or get a good corrosion resistant finish.

Up here in the summer I sweat. I find the sweat seeps into every nook and cranny. I need to detail strip at least once a week if not more.

A wife beater slows it down

Pretty much perfect

If you want a .45 these are really nice.

I'm pretty comfortable with a 5" steel gun but can't deny that a light weight commander would be even more comfortable. Not enough for me to jump on this one right now though.

I used to carry a Colt Lightweight Government.  It carried real nice in a VMII.

That's one I miss.  I sold it to Chuck Rogers.  No way could I afford to buy it back now!

They are nice,  a friend got one and I shot it last week.  I just wish Springer would cut that frame back a little under the trigger guard.

So we both want to do the trade, unfortunately it is not going to work out at we live on polar opposite ends of the state. Ah well, the hunt continues.

That's almost too good to be true. Make sure the Guardian hasn't been messed with and functions properly.

Thoughts on the EMP 4" I know its not a "real" 1911, but I like the weight and capacity.

I don't CCW my 1911 very often, but when I do it's a 5" GI in a Crossbreed SuperTuck.

I use a Bladetech AIWB holster when I carry my 1911. It’s a Dan Wesson CBOB.

I generally carry a M&P9, but when I need something that conceals easily I use the 1911. It’s basically a full sized gun that carries as good as a pocket pistol, albeit with a capacity not far off from a pocket pistol.

Ah.  Well if I could afford one, I'd be buying a 1911 too.  All of your picks look good.  I actually really like that EMP.  In theory.  I've never shot one though.

Carry it everyday in either the Raven OWB or the Kramer IWB. As others have mentioned, a good belt is just as important. I wear a Saddleback Tow belt.
