Lots of YouTube videos today for the brand new Taurus GX4 9mm. About the same size as the Sig P365, Springfield Hellcat and Ruger’s new Max 9.
Looks like a nice package. Taurus GX4 |

Taurus? No thanks.

Never ask a man if he is from Virginia. If he is, he'll tell you. If he isn't, you don't want to embarrass him.

I actually like it.
I’ve been wanting a P365 for a while. But im a Glock guy. This bridges the too for me. Would like to see a video of it compared to a P365. |

Well, isn't this a fine kettle of fish.

Honestly, just found out about this gun. With everything going on the neice of my girlfriend really wants to get a gun for CC and was asking for options. She is smaller statured and was looking heavily at subcompacts. That is how I came across this. Seems pretty awesome, direct competition for the p365. Maybe that will cause the p365 to come down in price, hopefully. Taurus is really trying to turn themselves around. So I wish them the best, I hope it is a good gun, just wish it had a light rail! Apparently a TORO model coming down the pipe as well, so maybe then.

The gun has a stout trigger pull, probably because they anticipate people pocket carrying the pistol. It has a good feel, but heavy.
A glock striker spring is too long, but cut down it works fine. I had a spare 3# Zev spring that I cut 4 coils off of; works fine with a 4 pound pull. So far it has fired about a hundred mixed rounds with no problems, but choked 100% on small rifle primer reloads. I have fired Federal, CCI, Winchester, and Wolf primers; and factory HST rounds; all fired properly. |

A local store has them for $300.
I held the gun and it doesn't feel any smaller than a g26. Question: are the mags compatible with anything else? |

Looks like a winner , that Sig 365 has had nothing but problems since it came out , I think they bank on people firing a box or two in a few years and putting it away ,

How does it compare with the G2 size-wise? Is the loss of two rounds worth the size tradeoff?

The G2C is the cheapest 9x19mm that will take a well made, boringly reliable mags made by a reputable company - SIG P226 mags. The GX4 might be a good gun, but you're entirely dependent on Taurus mags. They've gotten a lot better as of late, but the G2C/G3C/G3 series are budget guns that have some advantages. |
