I like to keep some spare parts on hand for my guns.  I know the barrel, slide, and extractor won’t be compatible between 9mm and 45.  Are frame parts compatible?  Springs, firing pin, etc?  I searched, but couldn’t find it.

Where’s the best place to get the parts?  Thanks.

Here’s the gun…

Barrel, extractor, slide, ejector, firing pin, slide stop,  magazine, and firing pin stop are different.
Ok. So, having said that. Some 45 acp slides use a 9mm firing pin. But most 45 acp slides use a slightly larger, and therefore different, firing pin. 1911 Govt 45 acp models use one size of ejector. But 9mm(and 38 Super through 10mm) and ALL Commanders, 45 acp, 9mm, and others, use a different size. Some 9mms might use a slightly lower powered Main Spring (Hammer Spring) than the 45 acp(23#), which allows the use of a higher weight recoil spring. But, the 9mm can run just fine with a standard 45 acp MS.
