We all knew something like this was coming. It looks good and will hopefully lead to other offerings. Wouldn't a hicap 1911 built on the Caspian format be cool?

MSRP is too high. It will be interesting to see what actual price is once these are on the shelves.

The guy in the comments said exactly what I was thinking.....

Whoa !!!! $2500 is getting close to Wilson Combat territory. Nice looking pistol but not $2500 worth in my humble opinion.

Ruger always sets the MSRP stupid high for some reason. I suppose they do it for their dealers can set their own prices based on local markets.

Ruger tooling is too dull to cut a Caspian frame.

"1:16" slow twist to increase accuracy with lighter weight match bullets."

I don't know any serious competitive shooter that shoots 115gr in competition, and Ruger's not known for coming out on the winning side of doing screwy things with barrels.

Nothing wrong with a 1:16 twist for 9mm, it is a pretty good choice for a wide range of bullets.  I have more of an issue with the statement in the article that it will help lighter bullets; whoever wrote that or was told that didn't know much about it.

No thanks.   Even if it’s under $2k street price, it’s still to much.  You’re square in Les Baer money in the $2k-$2,500 range.

What they have to do is articulate how this gun exceeds the performance of a DW to be worthwhile.

1911heaven.com generally has UTC's and PII's for $18-1900. $2k+ for a Ruger is a whole lot of nope.
Granted Baer charges a $300 premium for non 45acp. I'd take a Valor over that over priced crap Ruger.

Right?! BOOM. People would be surprised. Also, when volume was high PCC supplied a lot of the castings from Utah.

Well, good thing the street price is a lot less. Given similar street price percentages on Ruger's based off their MSRP I bet it will be around $1,800ish

$1800ish would still be $800ish too much.

And Les Baer's slides and frames are forged, big difference for me in that lofty price range.
