Does anyone have this line inside their chamber just before the barrel? It leaves a faint line on the exterior of spent brass.  I can feel it with a pick.
Best images I could get.

It’s a stepped chamber and it’s normal in Walthers and I believe HKs. Walther guys talked about it on a P&S podcast last week

The stepped chamber was the original chamber spec for the P.08 Luger.

Walther has used it since the P99 was introduced in the 90s.  It makes for better feeding because the area before the step is, obviously a slightly larger diameter, and the step insures a better gas seal, theoretically giving higher pressures and more velocity.

My P99s have been flawless feeding brass or aluminum cased rounds.  Never ran steel, never will, unless it's a surplus Com-Bloc pistol designed from the outset to be used with steel cased ammo.
