Overwatch Polydat Trigger

So I bought one of these for my Gen 3 17.  Appears to be a lot of take-up/mushiness before the trigger breaks.  Is there anyway to do away with that?  Recommendations on springs and whatnot if needed would be appreciated.

Upgrading the Glock to a 2011 is your best bet!

I use a "-" connector along with the Polydat in my gen 5 G20.

It was an improvement over the stock trigger for sure.

Concerning the 2011 suggestion, we have had a Prodigy and a Romulus. Neither one was reliable enough
for serious self defense work. Not all 2011s are created equal. I guess a Staccato would probably work out but
I don't have personal experience with one, too much $$$.

I shot my old beater nearly stock ( has a "-" connector) gen 3 G17 better than the Romulus.
I've never seen it fail to feed, shoot and eject. Can't say the same for the two 2011s we had.

Glocks just work, especially gen 3 G17s.

Well, this may be an apples to oranges comparason but you're talking about gen 3 so... the RXM is supposedly Gen 3 comparable.
I put a polydat with NP3 coated trigger bar in my RXM, there was just too much mush with the original connector which I polished as well as the NP3 coated dot connector I got from Overwatch. After various combinations Ive settled on the Pollydat with a polished Glock standard connector, polished striker safety and striker lugg, a reduced power Wolff fp spring and 5Lb striker spring. I've wound up with less take up, less mush, a soft but defined wall that you can use as such or easily pull through without moving the dot. The pull weight is just below 4.5 lbs which is pretty much my preference  for carry, all in all a pretty nice trigger.

Had the same problem on a Gen 4.  Sent it back and they did something to it to make it better but it’s still a trash trigger on my gun.

Ended up putting the factory trigger back in my gun and it’s night and day better.

Light Glock triggers are often mushy and have no defined wall.

Not an option for me.  Which is why I am asking.

As for those who offered advice, thanks.

A glock connector and some springs will run $25-$30 plus maybe an hours time if you polish everything while while its apart.
I did get a 4.5 lb striker spring and stiffer trigger spring but was happy without trying them.
