I would test fit the left side stock lever vs the replacement lever a couple times back and forth, so you can 'feel' both. Want to say it only took about a dozen file strokes. Good example pic:  Plus, you can compare the cut on the original to see the correct angle. |

Ordered a Safariland 7378-53-411 holster, for a 5" Prodigy or Staccato, since others have said they work for the DWX. A 7378-5353/24 showed up. Not sure if they sent the wrong part, but it mostly fit, just would not lock in. Had to cut back the catch lip on the ALS lever about 1/32" and file down the left inner side of the ALS for slide clearance. Used a heat gun to allow a little more room on the right side above the trigger. Fits perfectly and locks in solidly now. Really wish 'they' (Blueguns, ASM, QLH, Cooks, Multimolds, Holstermolds, anyone!), made a model mold for the full size DWX, to get a nice leather holster made. |

So, lets talk about a competition holster for a DWX full size. I started shooting USPSA, after 10 years hiatus from shooting modern pistols competitively. I have a black scorpion pro HD race holster, but have trust issues with the fully open race holster, I can't help but second guess the retention especially when I have to start outside of the shooting area meaning i draw mid-movement. And the locking latch on it is tiny and hard to operate. What are other options? Apparently DAA max holster for 2011 fit DWX after some sanding, but I would prefer something that doesn't need any mods. What do you use? |
