Any clues? 10mm?
Just in time for the crazy leftists to ban everything. |

My dream has always been either a HK VP10 or Walther 10mm. Hopefully it will have decent mag capacity if it is a new 10mm.

Germans don't seem to be welcoming to the 10mm, IMO.
H&K doesn't make one. I don't believe Sig ever has made one despite them doing .357Sig, .38Super & lord knows what else. Obviously Glock does but they're Austrian rather than German. Be better for my budget if it isn't a 10mm, I can say that. |

Up until recently you could get a Sig 220 in 10mm, not sure if you still can. |

If it's the one I've seen leaked, it's the ddx steel frame. Full size frame and dust cover, 4 inch slide with a comp to make it 5 inches. Like the p320 X Comp that Parker Mountain Machine does.

It won't be a 10. Far too niche a cartridge for them, as it's only a "thing" in North America, and there is zero interest in the LE community for it.
The scuttlebutt on the Walther Forums is that it will be a steel and or aluminum version of the PPQ, and a second pistol along the lines of the P365, but no one really knows for sure. |
|
[#11]
I stand by my aluminum framed PPQ comment. Its the next logical step. I would buy a aluminum framed PPQ in a heart beat.
|
|
[#12]
As a big Walther fan, I'd like to see their version of a 365-sized pistol. I'm not that crazy about the SIG one, although I admire the engineering that produced it.
Let's see a little Walther like that. |
|
[#13]
Any idea on when in Feb the announcement will be? I'm seeing Tenicor will have holsters and Overwatch Precision will have a trigger when it comes out. That makes me think PPQ, but I could really use a new EDC gun, and the P365XL I'm lukewarm on.

Better not be a newer Q5 SF Pro. Just picked one of those up not too long ago!
Maybe a better PPQ M2 22 where the trigger isn’t such a POS. |

Just got an email proclaiming Feb 19, 20, and 21 as the dates to the see the new Walther at dealers. Kinda weird it's just Friday-Sunday, but I don't do marketing.
Maybe it's the P99AS, but now in green! I could go for that. I kinda miss my old P99. |

Huh. What exactly is “red dot ergonomics”? Do red dots require different ergonomics?
Almost looks like a cross between a Q4/5 and a PPQ.. Is that a full size RDO or a micro? |
|
[#22]
While I think this will make a fine replacement for the PPQ out of the box, as the owner of two PPQs I've had to get optic cut and stippled, it doesn't appear to offer much for me. I was hoping for a competitor to the P365XL and 48X.

[#23]
It’s a new line of polymer duty pistols meant to replace the PPQ. Fullsize (4.5”/18rds) and Compact (4”/15rds) to start. Lots of parts backwards-compatible with the PPQ, Glock sights, optics-ready, modular slides and frames

[#26]
Would definitely get the compact one.

I like it, and think it has promise. The lack of a paddle magazine release is a non-starter for me. If it had the paddles I'd have one on order.

I picked one up for about that. C&H Precision is making all the optics plates for Walther and they will have ones for the Acro, Holosun 509T, etc. Out of the gate, Walther has plates for RMR, Shield RMS/DPP, Docter, and Vortex Viper available -- you get one of your choice free with the pistol. |

View Quote Needs: Paddle magazine release Much shorter slide stop Texture higher on the frame Much reduced trigger takeup (from my PPQ, it's almost unshootable) Change springs or whatever is needed to tame the muzzle flip. Worst 9mm I've ever shot for shooting dynamics. At least they filled in the big cutout behind the trigger that all the europeans seem to cut out of their grips. |

Quoted: Love me some Walthers... So here are a few comparison photos. Top to bottom: P99QA, PPQ M1, PDP: https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/26706/walthers01-1832238.jpg Slides interchange among all frames, at least in terms of function checking (L-R: P99, PPQ, PDP): https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/26706/walthers02-1832239.jpg Frames are all variations of each other and feel very similar in size. The PDP texture is the best by far (L-R: P99, PPQ, PDP) https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/26706/walthers03-1832241.jpg I actually prefer the paddle mag release on the PPQ, but the big button on the PDP is better than the TINY paddle on the P99. As for triggers, the PPQ and PDP are really similar, while the P99QA is mushy and has a long reset. ETA: I think I may shoot this configuration for a bit... https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/26706/walthers04-1832258.jpg View Quote Awesome post - thank you. Lovely. Sort-of-want the big 4.5" version. I like duty-size combat handguns. Hopefully it shoots well as the community gets a hold of it. |

View Quote (I buy at highest peak, sell at lowest point - ain't I cool bro) But anyway, can't wait for this handgun. Over the years I have become more and more of a Walther fan. I started with P38s, moved to PPKs then had a crush on P5s (both full size and compact) and now I wanted a P99 (James Bond fan, massive). I settled for this PdP which is largely based off of the P99. Can't wait! |
