Not sure what this has to do with JSOC, but this is kind of cool:

Clearly- but still cool.

Unless there is separate ownership of the entity, I wouldn't be surprised to see the RAIDER and the M1911A1 SKUs migrate over to that brand.

I really like what they are doing with mimicking the text of the M1911A1.

LOL that they did a swap-and-reverse of the Dirty Bird for knife-MAC though...

One step forward and two steps back.

Oh, that's interesting. I've not seen those, but I don't think that Bomar sight would last long on the battlefield.

Maybe because the missions were all short duration.

The protected mounting style probably helped.  Larry Vickers wrote about them in his book, and I think Pat McNamara has discussed them before.  it sounded like that setup was in use for a pretty good amount of time.

Check this out if you have not read it before. 1911A2 SOCOM trial more than 2 decades ago.

That's completely insane.

I wonder if anyone bust out laughing at potentially fielding an unholsterable, joker barrel, bling-bling 1911 with a screw drift adjustable rear sight?

No idea whats up with the long barrel one. Says it's still in the white so maybe they cut and threaded the barrel when finishing it.  Guns pretty similar to a couple of them were fielded though.

Built on Caspian frames and slides by the Springfield Custom Shop.

Interesting!

Looks like they even made those faggy French Curls or whatever ahead of the dust cover on the slide.

I still carry the superior "JSOC" almost every day- Gen3 Glock 19.

Looks like a carbon steel/nitrided Tisas Match 45 without the front serrations...I like it a lot... would love to see that exact model but with a fixed/Novak rear sight.

I've broken three Bomar style rear sights. Never banged them on anything. Just shooting 45 ACP did it.

Pretty much just the normal way a railed 1911s slide and receiver are machined to match up.

The first Colt 1911's had ball cuts. The cuts we see today were a cost cutting measure.

Do you know who that Jheri curl guy is?

That's a standard 1911 frame that had a rail section welded to it before purpose built railed 1911s were a thing.

You had me until I saw those snaggy faggy adj. Bo-Mars. …. C’mon, let’s get serious.

If this JSOC gun’s supposed to be a serious “operator” piece, then you’re going to run snag-free fixed night sights.

Word, my dudes.

Looks sweet.   Would prefer a fixed ledge rear sight, like a Valor clone or their Texas gun nitrided without the engraving.

I don't know the guy, but he's got some Soul Glo leaking onto the microfleece collar of his RealTree(TM) Combat Shirt.

I do see that the rail is welded now. That's a hard style from back in the day.

Ah, OK.

"You don't need a rear sight that can survive a bump on the door frame, or a series of powerful sneezes."

"Hey! You're not gonna need that either- we'll be back before dark."

We've learned a lot since then.

The USMS has adjustable sights on their Staccatos.

I'm not a fan of adjustable sights, but I'm not going to discount the experience of people who have been there and done that and pretend that I know more than they do. I also wouldn't try to portray them as some sort of fudd based on their appearance.

Even the "Elite" version of the Range Officer (terrible name) does not have front strap checkering.

The adjustable sights on the Range Officer are not cut for the snaggy faggy, but more protected, Bo-Mar type sights.

This is a clone gun (of a type that I was unaware of), and well done with the exception of the knife-MAC cartoon on the slide.

You could literally run down every thread on here, every single day of the year, and say: "Neat.  But my Glock 21 does much better for less money."

The new Tisas Raider does pretty much the same thing as my Colt M45a1, and I could make a tidy profit by selling the Colt. I want the Colt, maybe someone else wants this MAC instead of a Springer.

Then there is the fact that the entry level $400 Tisas does pretty much the same thing as your Range Officer, for less money.

To each his own.
