I just bought an older (1991) P220. After watching some videos, I bought a new DA/SA hammer (1200525-R), and short reset trigger kit (220-SRT-PKIT).

I was able to install all 4 parts (hammer, decocker, sear, and safety lever) and get the gun back together.

In going through the function tests, the single action, single action after reset, decocking, and double action after decocking work just fine. The problem is on the “second strike” or trying to use double action after the hammer has dropped and the slide has not cycled.

In looking under the right grip, it appears that with the hammer fully forward, the trigger bar does not go back far enough to re-engage the hammer.

Do I need to get a different trigger bar?

Update. The notch on the two hammers for the long DA pull are different. It’s a bit narrower on the newer trigger.

I’m gonna be that guy, but did it work ok before you started changing parts?

I can't find my notes from when I did several of these, but you need a new/current mainspring strut kit to match w/ the new hammer. Think you'll want to add the rebound spring. Maybe a new decocker as well.

Have fun w/ it.

Yeah, I threw the same question over at Sigtalk and they said a lot of the mainspring parts would need changing out. Putting the old hammer back in with the SRT kit worked.
