Found a model 87 target 22lr for sale. Really nice shape, two mags, box, etc.. It has perked my interest.
I read posts talking about the trigger, with some saying it is good, some say it is not great, creep, overtravel, etc.. but that seems like the only main complaint about them.
Not finding any recent posts with prices. Most are several years old.
Curious what you guys think a current reasonable price is on one of these?
Do not want to pay too much for it, but if the price is decent, I may pick it up.

I like 22lr pistols. I have a high standard supermatic, a few rugers, and recently a buckmark.
Was curious about adding one of these to the list, if the one I found is not over priced.

Just FYI, the Beretta 87 trigger can be improved by replacing certain parts with Beretta 89 parts.  There's a thread on that either here or rimfire central.  Those 89 parts are getting harder to find now, and more expensive when you do.

I had an 87 for several years & enjoyed shooting it. I sold it to fund another gun & now wished I'd had kept it.

What's the price on the one you're looking at?

Friend had one.  Outstanding pistol.  Even I’m accurate with it.

I'd really like to get an 87 as a suppressor host.

I would suggest a better solution:

This gun would make almost anyone's target look good at the range.

They are asking $750, plus shipping

How can you even do that? The barrel is pretty much flush with the end of the barrel "frame?" (not really sure what to exactly call it.)

I had one when they first came out, very accurate but the trigger reset on mine was extremely long.

I wish they would have resurrected the 89 instead of releasing the 87.

The price you pay for a 87 deserves the 89 trigger.

I'd say that's about right in today's market.

These are excellent guns, IMO.

Out of production, hard to find parts, other guns shoot just as well and are easier to suppress.  I wouldn't bother but I don't like to deal with those sorts of issues.  YMMV.

Interesting idea, but I do not think I want to do anything like that to this gun.

That's about the only option to suppress one.

Well, I never had any desire to suppress it anyways. I have other 22lr pistols already threaded.
I just wanted it as a shooter and to add to my collection.

I ended up buying it. Got it for $725. But after shipping, and uncle sams pound of flesh (sales tax) it was naturally more.
It showed up at my FFL late friday afternoon according to the tracking, so hopefully I should be able to get it monday.

Depends on price.

I wouldn't pay more than 500 for either a 87 or 89. They are nice but triggers aren't to my taste... too much roll.
