I recently received a slide kit for a Glock 17 and noticed that the recoil rod is an assembly with a metal guide rod (Strike Industries).  I've only ever used factory plastic guide rods.  Any issues or things I should know using this assembly?

Thanks

If you take your Glock to an armorer with any type of functioning problem, that is the first part they will throw in the trash.  They will also give you a dirty look, and may kick your shin if you are within range.

Also, I just bought an NDZ kit with a captive metal guide rod and a set of springs.  I made sure the blinds were closed, just to be sure no armorer could see my actions.   I installed it in near darkness.  On my next range trip, my suppressed Glock 21 functioned properly with a 20 lb spring and metal guide rod.

I typed this as silently as I could. Be cautious.
