I use a paint pen in a bright color to mark the back of the mag where the two extra witness holes would be on a factory 17 rounder.
Btw, these paint pens are great. I use them all the time for stuff like this. They seem to wear much better than ink. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MZG2VF8?tag=arfcom00-20 |

I only had 12 mags so when these went on sale, I bought 12 of them. No worries now, all my VP9 mags are 17rd mags now.
