Factory and Mec-Gar mags are so cheap, aftermarket is pretty much unnecessary.

Mec-Gar 18 is the best Beretta magazine available, and it is often cheaper than alternatives.  What's not to like?

The mec gar 18s or beretta 17 rounders are awesome. So are the factory 15 rounders. Surplus gi mags are ok for range use. Tons in the EE here.

What's up with the new 20s Beretta is selling?  From the pictures I see "Made in Italy" in a familiar location and font but I guess that's just a coincidence and they are actual Beretta-made mags.

They are REALLY extended compared to the usual Mec-Gar 20rd mag, which is just an 18 with a different baseplate.  You'd think they could have gotten done with less OAL.

Mec-gar is awesome. Their 18 rounders are what the gun should come with.

They've had those for a long time, although not sure what purpose they fill.

I THINK the 'extended' 20s are using the same follower as the 15 round mags plus a +5 base, while the 'low profile' 20s are the 18s with a +2 base pad.

I say 'think' cause I've never actually seen the long 20s in person, just on Beretta's site.

I typically only buy factory mags. I am sure others are just fine but I just have good luck with factory. (And Wilson combat)

factory mec-gar and usgi mags are all I will use

MDS (Beretta in-house mag producer) 17s and Mec-Gar 18s all day. Advantage to MDS for that superslick finish not allowing anything to stick to it, and advantage to Mec-Gar for an extra round and a finish that’s almost identical to the finish on my HK Mk23 mags for durability and longevity.

Go with those two and you’ll probably never have a mag problem.

I've been using Checkmates and have great success with them. I bought a lot of factory mags and they work very well. With the prices so close to each other, I don't see why you wouldn't pick up a Beretta brand mag over the other.
