The Humble Marksman (YouTube) just did a review on the the Commander length Dbl. Stack version. I think it runs around $1700, but I didn't like the 3 month wait. I wish I could check one out locally. Although I already owning a C2 & P, I'm not sure I need another 2011 type pistol. But if you don't own either, that might be the great in-between size gun to have.

I've got the stainless commander 10 round version. It's a lot of gun for the money. Super smooth and great trigger.

They seem to be pretty well received. I've been doing a lot of looking at the SAS II Ultralight. If the $$$ makes itself available, it will likely become my new carry gun. I wish there was a version with a shorter grip but it is what it is.

Last I saw they were around $1300 but who knows at the moment. $1300 isn't cheap but it's a steal for a 2011. There's another model with a built in compensator and Shield red dot for around $1800 but I don't like the added length. |

Bought one off gunbroker last night. Sorry for dumb question but I’m a newbie to the 1911 platform,but is this pistol compatible with Wilson combat parts? I’d like to replace the mim parts,safety,hammer & plunger.

The right side of the frame is notched for a Swenson pattern, BTW. As an immediate plan I'll probably send the slide off to dscgunworks.com to have it cut for the Dawson DPO. Dawson seems quite committed to the system with multiple optics options. And being OEM from Staccato it isn't likely to be dropped/discontinued in favor of something else. At least that's my hope. Another option is to have Vulcan do some direct mill work or maybe just get it cut for the Trijicon 1911 adapter plate. Quoted: And thank you for the details So far I only have north of 100 rounds through the gun but it appears to be reliable. No issues with the slide locking open, etc and the gun ejects fine with no mag in place. The only complaint right now is that it shoots a little high. The front sight is .160" tall but should be probably .170" to get the gun hitting POA at 25. I'll have this adjusted if and when I have the slide milled for a dot. |

Regarding the addition of an optics plate; this plate from DWS might be a good option:
https://dynamicweaponsolutions.com/collections/accessories/products/2011-1911-mounting-plate It appears to fit the legacy RMR 1911 adapter plate cut and would allow a 509T to be attached without the addition of an RMR to 509 adapter plate. I happen to have a 509T X2 sitting in its box unused. Hopefully DWS (and others) will be making more direct attach plates like this. |

Saw my first one in person yesterday. 9mm full size. Felt good (Its a 1911...daa), looked to be well made. May have save my pennies and pick one up.
