That is real nice.

I have a set of the old Wilson Nite Eyes sights on my Hi Power.  They have been burned out for over twenty years now. Still a nice set of sights though.

I bought it used but found a reddit post of the person who built it. Its a half rail TRP, with the whole 10-8 catalog thrown at it, mag release, slide stop, trigger, rear sight, grips, grip screws, hard pins, etc. Then added Wilson safeties, grip safety, magwell. Had it all put together and ceracoted black. Oh, and cylinder and slide fire control parts, hammer, etc.

I havent shot it yet, but it feels good. Trigger is way too fucking heavy though. Need to address that.

Yea, its basically unfired. I cant believe it was so cheap. Has all the paperwork and everything. The magwell has almost no wear on it.

Wow.  Yeah me either.  Especially when it's something you could just Google and see is $3750 new.  That's why I was a little worried about it being a scam.

Awesome score!

Great score, and again, very jealous!

I hear you. I have a railed 45 operator on order, but I just couldnt pass up a 9mm at such a deal. Would I prefer a rail 9mm? Maybe. Does it beat the price I got it at? Hell no. Plus its a fucking dream to shoot. Seriously.

Now, I have been trying to bug SDS/Tisas to release one of these in 9MM:

https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/468022/IMG_0653-3229199.jpg

…and yes, that is an NV-capable gun,

But I “justify” it in and that it was cheap, and I wanted something to shoot immediately while waiting for a custom to get built, and all of my parts hacking and “gonsmiffing” is helping me to dial down and test out *exactly* what parts and configurations I want in a professional build.

Nice!

I would like to see them do a Pachmayr Combat Special clone.  Two toned,  retro beaver tail grip safety, gold or brass front sight, low mounted Bomars in a deluxe slide cut.  Heck, they could put Pachmayr grips on it instead of a checkered front strap and knock a little bit off the price.  But checkering would be awesome.

My Colt 1969 C series Government Model.  One year off from my birthday.

Gracias!

I've been going a little hog wild over the last few years with a 1911 obsession. I have made good relationships with a lot of my local gun shops, so I get calls when they get something 1911-ish and cool on the used gun rack.

I've got a full-house custom in the final stages of finishing that I'm really looking forward to getting in my hands, built off another Colt Special Combat Government Model Carry. That one turned from "new sights and there's just a few things I'd like to touch up" to "budget be damned" real quick. It started out looking like this, which wasn't bad to start with...

And an Ed Brown Special Forces in two-tone black over gray. It might seem like a small thing but this one has the best fit thumb safety of any 1911 I've ever held - just straight mechanical snick-snick, off-on - not to mention it has a Goldilocks barrel fit, "just right", not too tight, not too loose. My only minor grumble is the Chainlink texture on the front strap and mainspring housing is basically like no texture, but beggars can't be choosers.
