You have a very rare and expensive Luger even in that condition. It was made by Kreighoff for the Luftwaffe in 1936. If he is still around there is an advanced HK collector on the http://www.lugerforum.com/ that will know all about it.

When I was given my grandfather's luger I found out it was pretty rare as well.

When I saw the luger I was like "Man I know a guy on ARF that would know all about this."  It was you I was thinking of.  Thanks for rogering up.   I posted in Jan C. Stills Luger Pistols gunboard and there were some very intelligent dudes with lists of stuff.  I am still working on getting pictures of the internals and markings, mags that were with it are later makes, might be a mix master.  I will check out the luger forum.

Really nice find. I have a 1939 Krieghoff. Those guns have really appreciated.
