long eye relief scope.  Chinese one.  sub $30.  It'll be the most fun that way

Or just run a red dot.  They're fast and easy to pickup when shooting.   I've had a lot of fun w/ one on a 22 pistol.

I like red dots on hand guns better than scopes.   The only practical use I see for a scoped handgun is silhouette steel targets or hunting mostly with centerfire.   The older I get the more I need a rest with a magnified optic on a handgun.   Fortunately my eyes haven’t gone south enough to need magnification on a handgun.   Really boils down to personal choice.

Check ebay and gunbroker as well as Numrich.  Parts do show up for them still.  Make sure the hammer strut isn't bent.  If you get bored, open it up and you can usually get the trigger a bit better with some polishing; the channel the rebound slide sits in is rarely well finished on Taurus revolvers.  Clean out any crud including old grease, most Taurus guns I've messed with have been treated like cheap guns and tend to have crud in the nooks and crannies as well as the spring coils.  Wolff sells some springs for them but be careful changing hammer springs since the .22 needs a pretty good whack to be reliable.

Yep the steel can be a bit soft on some of their guns and the finishing usually leaves something to be desired but if it's a Tuesday to Thursday gun (i.e. middle of the week when the workers minds were on their work) they're usually pretty good shooters.  The low pressure guns like .22s shouldn't have any issues with the cranes stretching and creating cylinder gap issues.  I actually like picking up older Taurus revolvers to practice on, you used to be able to get them cheap but these days it's just generally not worth it unfortunately.  The Rossis were generally better guns but they've gotten ridiculously expensive as well, might as well buy a used Smith.

ETA- Yeah I'd have grabbed that one too for $200.

I didn't realize at first, that it was a rimfire.  My Taurus kit gun is one of my favorites.

Is that a 6 shooter or 9?

Go for it!   If you decide you don't like it you're not out a lot of $$$ and can switch to the original type sight.

Funny, I bought an old Taurus without a rear sight.  I ended up buying a S&W K frame rear sight - it wasnt cheap.
