While perusing around a few gun shops, I came across an HK P7 in the factory matte nickel finish with two mags and factory box, the pistol is in excellent condition hardly looked shot, Priced at $2600, is that a good price? Ive seen similar for more on GB. From I have researched it seems to be european, wide heel mag release, no import marks other than the HK proof marks and no prefix serial number. Any P7 experts please chime in.

From what I have read/understood, unless it is a P7M8, there are no factory nickel P7 (PSP) pistols with a heel release. They were done aftermarket. What does the label on the box say? What is the date code? CDNN sold some with a T25 coating years ago but it was not a factory coating and only done on the slide I believe. I would check out Hk Pro forum for more info..

The date code is DE, the box is a black and with green HK cardboard box with the serial number stamped on the side. On the top it says HK model P7

I work for the distributor that brought in the last large batch of police trade in p7's from HK around 2008.  It was around 5,000 guns.  We graded them A, B, and C grades.  Many of the C grade guns were sent off to have different finishes applied, including nickel, hard chrome, and a few different colors of KG Gun cote.  Its crazy to think what we sold those for and what they go for now.

I bought three of them back then. Sold one because of a minor issue back then and regret it now.

Not really a great FO price.
Gun market is slow right now, amd lately I see them go for 1600 to 2600 - on GunBroker, which is the land of bored drunks with credit cards.

We had one sell on this forum for $2k, that took 2 months to move.
Another was posted for 2400, amd is still sitting there in the handgun section.   2600 isn't horrible, but it is on the high side for a basic heel release P7.  I would not drive back white knuckles to get it get it get it.  But I would go back and see if they can knock off a few hundred.

I would have a hard time paying that for something that may have an aftermarket finish, possible police trade, unless something like the p210 surplus guns they had years ago,  but I’m not a p7 guy.

Yeah, I bought two of those police trade-ins back around 2007/2008.  Sold one and kept the best looking one… Didn’t see the need of keeping two and I am still good with that decision.

The P7 PSP is a neat pistol, even with the Euro magazine release. But, I don’t think it is something you want to run several hundred rounds through in one range session.  Just like my S&W Model 29, I’m good after 30rds of .44 Magnum!

Just like my Walther P5, I’m good after 4-5 magazines through my P7.

Thats a PSP with a heel mag release.

Surplus gun thats been refinished not the same as a factory nickle P7M8.

You will never lose money on a P7.  Had one for several years, shot the hell out of it, and sold it for double what I paid for it.
