I’ve got an old 1917 Colt that fails to fire every now and then when you run it in double action. Running it in single action, it will fire every time. I’m figuring it’s just getting a little out of time, and am wanting to fix that.

So my search for a good gunsmith that knows these old Colts has begun.  Does anyone have a recommendation?  I’m not looking to have anything extravagant done, just make it reliable again by someone who won’t screw it up, aka me.

You may want to post what area you reside in.  It would help with referrals.

I’m in Alaska, so I’m going to say I will have to ship it out of state.
