| Depending on the plate design. We'll fill the gap in front and rear, the 2020 to 2024 RMR plates we made did use the front fence, the latest 2024 RMR footprint revision code 84 no longer uses the front fence but retains it. The rear fence on all but one of our RMR plates is cosmetic and serves no real function. |
| Can someone tell me what dimensions are different with the gen 6 barrels? My local FFL said he ran 400ish rounds through a g45.6 with a gen 5 threaded barrel, no issues. So I put my radian ramjet afterburner on my 19 and my pmm ultra on my 17 and they seem to lock up fine. |

| I held a G19.6 at my LGS this afternoon. I didn’t like the grip texture, and the gas pedal was too far away (or my thumb is too short) for me to reach it. I was thinking of buying one for the red dot cuts but I’m not drawn to this handgun. I own two G19.4 that I prefer. |

I like mine but the grip could be more aggressive, the gas pedal is kinda meh, and the optics cut is mid. But it’s saved by the beaver tail, undercut, and palm swell. Once there’s a good Rmr plate available I’ll be much happier. |

The Gen 6 uses a Gen 3 guide rod. You can retro fit it to a Gen 4/5 with a reducing ring. There are numerous brands that make them. There are some that have them built into Gen 3 style guide rods as one piece rather than a separate reducing ring. Example: https://www.glockstore.com/Recoil-Assembly-Adapter-Ring-for-Gen4-Glocks |

Will gen 5 lower parts fit in the Gen 6 frame? If so will a gen 5 slide fit as well? Essentially if you have a gen 5 you love but would really like the improvements of the new frame, could you transfer everything from your gen 5 into the Gen 6 and get the best of both worlds. |

Essentially if you have a gen 5 you love but would really like the improvements of the new frame, could you transfer everything from your gen 5 into the Gen 6 and get the best of both worlds. My understanding is the backplate will require minor alterations and the Gen 6 frame won’t accept the Gen 4/5 recoil spring. That could be changed with a reducing ring in the slide and a Gen 3 style 19 length guide rod. For the frame, older trigger housings won’t work. But they otherwise use the same parts - trigger bar, connector, trigger return spring assembly. So you could move over most parts from a Gen 5 trigger assembly. |
|
I got around to testing the stock trigger pull weight of my 17.6 and it came in between 5.5-6 lbs on my Wheeler digital gauge. I replaced the connector with an OEM minus connector and added some copper grease to it where the trigger bar rides and it lowered the pull to around 4 lbs. I then swapped the striker spring to an aftermarket that is either 4.5 or 5 lbs - it wasn’t labeled in my parts box and I don’t remember what it was. Either way, the striker spring with minus connector got the pull down to 3-3.5 lbs. This is how I’ll run it at least until Glock releases a Gen 6 performance trigger. I prefer the feel of my Glock 34.5 GPT with the fully cocked striker. But my Gen 6 trigger is now pretty close to the feel of a GPT. |

My preference is the Defender XL right now and I've shot using just about every pistol optic. I've shot in the rain, fog, cold/hot and have never had any issues with open emitters or the RMR or DPP mounting footprints. |

I think they have it ironed out but not positive. I have 8k rounds on my gen 5 with ACRO, no debris in the window or internally to the unit. I know about 15 end users here that run them hard and haven't had either of those issues. Seems we're the beta testers on most products these days unfortunately or when you produce thousands of units someone in QC had an off day and missed some. What dot are you running? |

Not all plates have given the fence a function. For the plate design that does use it for purpose other than aesthetics, it needs to be there. Our MOS design had already evolved out of that (due to a contract request which we then standardized all MOS, PDP, Stacco, SW RMR plate based on the agency specific parameters), so ours will not need either but we'll fill the gap all the same to remove the appearance of possible problems. |

I am a die hard RMR HD fan. I have an acro on a AP5-P and it has been fantastic, but obviously thats a very forgiving firearm to have any optic on. I love the idea of the P2 but I swear there's a member who is a large department armorer who said they had an astonishing failure rate with theirs. Again though, its been a while since I have read of these reports. I'd personally not put one on a pistol, but if they're ironed out, I have a few other things I'd like them on for sure. Very happy to see you have a solid amount of rounds on yours without any issues. |

|
All RMR footprint sights will now be a bit lower on the Gen 6 Glocks, where sight sets with a 0.315" front sight height will work. With P2, sight sets with a 0.365 is necessary for a very low, but usable backup sights, 0.405" will give you lower 1/4. Some folks can be too focused on the installed RDS height, if it matters to them, an RCR will now be mounted lower on a Gen 6 than Gen 5 MOS, and lower than a Gen 6 ACRO. Attached File |

Adding grease to the connector where the trigger bar interacts with it helps a lot with making the pull feel smoother. Those few things make for a pretty good trigger and an inexpensive temporary solution until a Gen 6 GPT is released. |

They have a very progressive firearms policy/team and have lots of cool stuff as a result. He said that almost HALF the Acro P2s that they bought have had issues and been sent back. Interestingly enough, they have also had issues with a number of their Gen 5 Glocks. He did note that he has not had any issues with his own issued Gen 5/P2 combo, but that he only has about 3k on that gun so far. He's a straight shooter and good guy, so I take his thoughts seriously. As always, YMMV. To keep it on topic, I put a 19 Gen 6 on layaway yesterday. Plan to pick it up in the next couple weeks. Just happened to stop into my local shop and it was the last one they had, so I'm choosing to believe it's fate.

Thanks |
|
OPF-G6, RMR will require a sealing plate for RMR, we believe this is a logical and practical choice. RMR is one of four RMR footprint sights Trijicon makes (RMR, RMR HD, RCR, and SRO). Of the four, only one (RMR) has an open battery access on the bottom. Whereas on the MOS, it makes sense to support the full width of the RMR footprint sights, which also removes the need for a sealing plate for RMRs, the M3 screws used for MOS plates are small and the thickness required required to accommodate the countersink of the M3 screw can be less than 0.1" Gen 6 ORS has two sets of screw holes. Both 6-32 and M4 screws are bigger with a much longer and larger countersink area to content with, and the thickness of a base for the plate is significantly different. We had both the full width support version (requires no sealing plate) and the one we chose to be the production OPF-G6, RMR prototypes (without full width support) made. The full width support version is 0.03" thicker due to having a 0.03 (thin but still adds thickness) base. To us, it doesn't make sense to impose the 0.030" height penalty on RMR HD, RCR and SRO users that neither need nor benefit from having a full width support made just for the RMR. RMR users retain the lowered install height Gen 6 ORS provides by using a sealing plate. RMR HD, RCR, and SRO don't need a sealing plate, while all the sights sit lower by not having a full width support. We have our ORS compatible backup sights charts nearly ready. RMR HD, RCR and SRO that require backup sights with a front sight height of at lest 0.350, preferably 0.365, can now use sight sets with a front sight height as low as 0.315 with OPF-G6, RMR. A full width support OPF-G6, RMR will forfeit any installed RDS height reduction afforded by Gen 6 ORS. We can make both versions, but don't believe the full width version will be popular due to the increased installed RDS height. That's a long winded, detailed host of reasons for the decision

Aimpoint reports that once they got into the 4 million serial range, they had things worked out but the ones prior to that had some production hiccups. It's part of why they built an entire factory just for robotic COA production. |

I don’t think the entire department was issuing the Acro, I believe they ordered a batch for testing when they were reviewing options they might want to transition to. I had called to ask him about the Acro when I was thinking about picking one up and he told me he liked his issued one well enough but they’d had a significant portion of their test pool go back to Aimpoint. I don’t think I’d hesitate to buy one today necessarily, but I’d probably do an RMR HD personally. |

I bought a G19.6 2 days ago. I love it. I skipped Gen 5 bc I didn’t see enough to get really excited over, although I almost upgradded a few times over the years. I love everything about it, especially the grip. I do feel like it points different tho. I have a bunch of Glocks and this new one I seem to be a bit off when presenting it vs my others. I’m working on that. The gaps around the RDS don’t really bother me. So I’m not to concerned about that. I assume the gen 6 uses any other generation of sights? I’d like to put some suppressor hight sights on it. Now my problem is deciding on what to strap on every morning lol. The G19.6 or my 43xMOS. Gen 4 and 6 Attached File |
