  Fine print says the following models will be available. Looks like everything is optics ready (no separate MOS models). G17 is essentially the G47 frame design. That would actually make sense, the G17 was their first (aside from the P80). A lot of history to throw away if they dropped the G17 from the lineup. |

Function over form and all that but man is that thing fugly. They're going from a boring design (as I sit here with a G17.3 RTF2 next to me) to hideous. At least they kept the sights, those have always been a staple and great.  As someone who's been looking for an excuse to buy a G19 I think my $600 and M&Pc 2.0 are both safe. |

They should have done a swappable dust cover. I already don’t like short dust covers and the G34 is going to look like an absolute clown shoe. I also don’t get why they didn’t put grip texture for the strong hand thumb on the frame. Not all of us curl our thumbs out like a princess drinking from a wine glass when we shoot. All of their military contracts for years have been for earth colored guns. I’m hoping they adapt on that at some point. The undercut and beaver tail look good. It’s innovative for them but I wouldn’t trade my FDE GEN 5 G17 for one. |

They havent abandoned the Gen 5 for military contracts from what ive heard they just won't be available for civilians going forward. And even still for civilians they will have the 19x MOS V. That was said to be apart of the V series. Also their multiple color availability I think is something that worked before i doubt they would change that theyre just rolling black out first because its what most people will buy. Idk why people are surprised they aren't changing the grip angles. Shooters of their guns have been shooting that grip angle for over 2 decades. Why would they change that? My opinion- looks decent ill mirror the question if the grip is too abrasive for CC. They may be more inclined for a little bit more innovation now that Gaston has passed. |

Texture looks a *bit* too aggro and I don't care for the textured "gas pedal". Other than that ,I'm sure I'll end up with one, or 4, eventually. ETA: I guess I'm in the minority in that I don't mind the grip hump and actually use it to index into my palm, I'm kind of glad they kept it. I'm on the fence on the flat trigger face. Thought I'd prefer flat until I installed one in a 19.4, and took it out after a while to go back to stock. |

I’m still in the wait until I have one in hand or video from a credible source but will admit I’m wrong when the time comes. Seems odd to have distributor photos that still seem AI generated. They use the same slide for the G19 and G45? Same serial number. If this is the legit item, looks great to me. |

The TFB video answers about 90% of my questions. Still remaining; 1. What's up with the A-Cut? Are Glock and Aimpoint still friendly? 2. How aggressive (really) is the new texture? (James didn't really elaborate) I also learned that Glock as added palm swells. I can't say I'm happy about that. MIght be a deal-breaker for me. |

There’s now a catch plunger you push in from the bottom of the slide to remove it from the side. Looks incredibly easy and simple, and one of the videos he says you could catch brass with a Solo cup now. I really would have liked to see them use their modular grip patent in this but they didn’t. That said, they continued their Gen 5 work in making the grip even more rounded and the grip looks good, despite them failing to extend it for rear thumb pressure. The undercut and even further flared magwell are big winners. The plate system looks to only take DPP or RMR, but it looks like one of the better designs. The actual plate is more just a gasket to get proper hardware height for the direct mounted threads. I’m never buying anything but RMR pattern ever again, so this is better than MOS. |

Looks like the plate is still missing a tight pocket to fit around the optic though. I suppose the aftermarket will provide much better plates, as always. But the cuts on the slide look good. |
