No the sights for the 49 are the same as any Gen5 9mm, that sounds like a slide issue. I had a G32 slide years ago that had the front sight hole cut way far to wide. I measured it with calipers and it was 4 thousandths wider than all my Glock slides. Glock replaced the slide.
