I’ve been using the Tier 1 wedges. They’ve been ok but I’m seeing other options now. Black Arch and Mastermind Tactics to name a couple.

What’s everyone’s favorite?

Interested!

So does the wedge keep it from digging in when you're sitting?

Somewhat, but the main purpose is to slightly push outwards on the barrel, which pushes the grip in tighter to your body. It’s especially helpful with shorter barrels pistols

I guess I’ll have to try this. Looks kind of bulky…

He's got different sizes, including a fill your own to your liking.

It's actually less bulky (and a whole lot more comfortable) than any of the foam wedges I tried.

I have one of these (actually wearing it right now) and it's AWESOME. I replaced the wedge on my JM Custom Kydex AIWB that I modified and tweaked and did everything I could to make comfortable, but it still would apply uncomfortable pressure after a little while. Got the pillow and I can wear that holster all day at work and be comfortable. Definitely finally made AIWB a viable option for me after trying a host of different combos. I highly recommend trying one.

I got the one that comes empty and in a separate bag is the filling. Then you fill it to your preference. After some use it flattened out a bit, so I added a bit more filling and it's been GTG since.

Mastermind Tactics is good to go, I currently am using one as well for a HK P30L with TLR7 AIWB. I have the one that is sewed without adjustability and I found that it "flattened" to just wear I needed it to be. I overhang mine a bit past the bottom edge of my holster and it removed any hot spots that were apparent before.

+1 on the tactical pillow. Much more comfortable than a foam wedge because *it's softer*. I had uncomfortable pressure points using foam wedges too, but those went away with the pillow. Using a JM custom kydex "the george" holster.

Not to derail the thread from a wedge but,
MM Specialist Pro belt is an outstanding AIWB carry belt.

For reference, here's the MM pillow with a couple of other foam wedges I tried...Dark Star teardrop, and the one JM Custom Kydex sells on their site (I think...I may have gotten it somewhere else). For me, the pillow is much more comfortable than the foam...just like a sleeping pillow it has some give and cushion, unlike the foam wedges that are rigid and don't compress at all.

On a JMCK AIWB...

I’ve made my own using a yoga block. They are better than the tier 1 because they can be better fit to the holster and your body.

I have not tried the MT pillow pad but it’s on my list of things to try now.

Thank you to everyone who suggested the Mastermind Tactics Pillow. Definitely the most comfortable “wedge” I’ve used. Works great for keeping the gun close to your body as well.

Only carried with it for one day but I think it’s a winner.

I've been wedge-curious for a little bit. I think it would solve my issue of my g19 w/ tlr7 aiwb from digging into my body while sitting.

Question- how do these work with a sidecar style holster?

What's the material they use inside the pillow?  Are they tiny beads or cottony like stuff?

Cottony

They are definitely the most comfy but also require starting off huge in comparison to foam to achieve the same level of wedge function because they compress quite a bit. So overall the pillow is more bulky in the pants but also more comfortable.

I’ve never had luck with a sidecar style. No matter what it flops away from my body. I do think the MT pillow would help. I’d consider using one on the gun portion and the magazine portion.
