I like them.

The Thai grips are generally well made and fit pretty good.

I have the checkered grips with a covered back strap and really like them.

There's another Thai maker that makes a pretty decent factory combat replica

Have a set for an N frame.  Fit well, no complaints.

I have a set on my Taurus 627 Tracker. They are much better than the factory "Ribber" grips that came on it.

I have a set of his square butt N frame grips that are similar to the old target style grips.  They are a little big to me.  The fit is pretty good for not being fitted to my frame.

Dude cranks out some grips, will take a month to get them.
It's been a few years, back then they would only have a few sets and when the combats popped up you needed to be fast. I snagged a set, paid, 10 minutes later another set came up, I snagged them, paid, 10 minutes later another set, same thing
Then 20 minutes later he refunded my shipping cost on the other 2 sets and sent all 3 together.

I was looking at some Colt Grips they have and was amazed at how poorly they were milled but thankfully and surprisingly they clearly showed it in the pics..

Older ones no but newer ones (that are actually made my Altamont) yes, and they fit like a glove

Surprising amount of variation in the size of grip frames.  Even a small variation can show up on the fit of new grips.

I guess there is also a surprising amount of variation on what different people consider acceptable? I get that not every frame is exactly alike but the inletting in that pic isn't just slightly oversized to account for frame size variations, that's just crappy inletting IMO. YMMV?

I need to replace a hacked set of grips on my Detective Special.  Problem is it's an early '60s gun, so long frame, and grips aren't real common for this one.

So I've been considering the Thailand grips.  Thanks for the pics.

Round butt for the 617. Two toned
Square butt in the 66
They’re not perfect but for $114 for the pair, I’m very happy

Thai grips/stocks or just household furniture are generally well made. No complain from me. Half or 1/3 of the OEM grips price. Clearly can tell it's aftermarket, but just want something better than rubber for range use and not breaking my bank account. The pictured one $60 from eBay.

BTW, the desk underneath is also made in Thailand, bought from WorldMarket. A nice backdrop for the photoshoot.
