Does anyone make a threaded barrel for the SAR K2?
They seem interesting but I would really like to get a threaded barrel. |

I have been looking for years! I have always wanted one but never picked it up as you couldn't get a barrel for it and I wanted to run a can on it. Still should have all those years ago.
Are they even made anymore? |

I never had a chance to do this as my work changed about 4 or 5 years ago or so until now. When these first hit the market, I was looking for a threaded barrel option too. It hit me that since the top half is very "Sig" like, then maybe the Sig p227 (Sig double stack .45), barrel just might work. I found after a few hours on one of the Sig forums that someone had specked out a p227 barrel. I compared the specs to my k2 barrel and it was very close. Best to memory the hood seemed to be either the same or to within a thou or two difference. Enough to where I think it would probably work or with just some minor filing.

View Quote The Sig P220/P227 barrel is 4.4-inches nu-threaded and 4.9-inches threaded. The SAR K245ST list a length of 4.7-inches, darn it. |

Yeah I remembered that I just checked the barrel hood and barrel diameter dimensions. The length was questionable because well who is measuring it and where do you measure to/from. Meaning at the start of the barrel hood that may or may not have been fitted to the barrel end or end of the slide? Then the k2 more than likely was made in metric and then converted over to standard for US marketing. 4.4" vs your 4.7" is a difference of .30", over a 1/4 of an inch different. There was a YouTube video of a guy with the 227 and k2, stating that they are the same length. Im not sure but i see the stated numbers being fudged a bit to where I think that they might be closer than advertised

It would be amazing if that ended up working. These are one of my favorite pistols and I'd love a threaded barrel

Could you buy a compact and full size and have the full sized barrel threaded to use in the compact?

Mine will run my 185gr handloads around 1000 fps using a fixed mount on my rad45. Need to find someone to mill it for a red dot. I like the capacity, grip and controls feel good, stock irons are white dots with adjustable rear, haven't shot it far yet but at 15 yards seems good.
