I really wanted to like the hinged trigger because it doesn't have a dingus poking out the middle of it but I just couldn't get over the excessive amount of pre-travel it had. I was just too inconsistent with it and I didn't like it. The long travel threw my shots off at longer distances. I think the newly designed triggers are an upgrade, I think they're pretty good. It feels like a better trigger to me even though I can't really stand the dingus. It seems to have a bit less travel in it, although it's not perfect either.

Yes. The new flat trigger is really good. All it needs is an apex usb to take the grit away but its fine without it.
Smith needs to just go ahead and license this from apex. |

Better than the 1.0
Nowhere near as good as apex. I don't bother buying Apex USBs, i just polish the factory plungers in a drill or lathe. |

I've shot both.
I preferred the 2.0 flat trigger to the 2.0 hinged trigger, but that is just like my opinion man... Bigger_Hammer |

Yep to an extent. The factory flat with APEX USB is about 90% of the apex kit IMO. 3. This does help, I've done it in one of my 2.0's, I still prefer the APEX USB to the polished factory, but polishing is free. |

I don’t have any experience with 1.0 or regular 2.0, but I finally broke down and purchased my first polymer pistol, the 2.0 Perf Center 10mm w/5.6 barrel, just to get magazine capacity (my EDC is 1911’s in 10mm or .45).
I think the 2.0 Perf Center trigger is pretty good, but I don’t have anything else to compare it to. |

I like the new trigger a lot. I had four M&Ps with hinged triggers that I replaced with new M2.0 flat triggers. I'm not interested in aftermarket triggers, even if everyone raves about them.

I could use another factory flat trigger
last time I called, s&w wouldn’t sell them |

The new flat trigger, to me, is the best production trigger you can get. Very smooth.

I like it except for the soft reset. I wish it was just a bit more pronounced. Otherwise, it's a great factory trigger.

I replaced the triggers on my Shield Plus, and on my full size M&P Pro PC, with Overwatch Precision aluminum flat triggers. The Shield flat trigger didn’t have a good reset, and it was really wobbly. Like it had a lot of side to side slack in it. The hinged trigger on my PC model sucked all the way around. I was really disappointed in it. I expected a lot better trigger from an $800 performance center model. The Overwatch Precision triggers make for really nice upgrades.

Has anybody tried the Overwatch Precision sears? Or the Improvement Kit with the sear and striker block?
I like the feel and characteristics of the 2.0 trigger, I just want it to be a little smoother and lighter. Don't really need or want the whole Apex kit. |

It's super easy to do a trigger job on an M&P
Burwell's trigger job is for the old 1.0, but most of this works on the 2.0 also. https://www.burwellguns.com/misc/M&Ptriggerjob.pdf |

Didn't care for the new style trigger. It's an improvement over the original trigger but nowhere near as good as an APEX due to the grit and longer reset.

To me it's not better or worse than trigger on my PDP. Edited to say I installed an early Apex kit on my 1.0 and it is one of my better triggers, though reset is soft. |
