Hello all,
Yesterday I bought a CZ 75 compact and it's my first CZ ever owned. Took it to the range today and it worked without any issues. The problem i discovered was that the beaver tail grip digs into the web of my hand when shooting. The beaver tail on this pistol seems to be straight back instead of having an "up curve" like standard beaver tail grips. Am i SOL with this design? My hands are large and def will need some sort of resolution if i'm going to keep shooting this pistol. Any and all feedback welcomed

Hi OP,

I first got into CZ's with pistols that had the newer beavertail contour. Last year, I snagged a used CZ75B Compact and to a lesser extent noticed it was less comfortable to shoot.  After adding some quality grips and slightly lowering my grip, it stopped being something I noticed.  The compact does seem a bit snappier than say my SP-01 but, there is noticeably less weight. It might be worth making sure your recoil spring is fresh.

If you are feeling brave, you could probably recontour the underside of the frame where the beavetrail is fairly square with some judicious filing and get closer to the feel of the newer frames.
