Months ago I purchased a quantity of CCI 9mm with Aluminum cases.

Does anyone have any experience with these rounds in the Glock 19 Gen 5 or 4.
I was not paying attention when I made the purchase and did not notice the ammo used aluminum cases.

It's okay to poke fun at me, it's my mistake.

Send them to me for destruction.

Seriously, I'm sure the are OK.

If there are any doubts, use them for range ammo. I've shot many hundreds without any issues.

Hell I even reload them!

The newer production ones are Boxer primed and reload just like a brass round.

I typically reserve these loads for times I will be shooting in the woods or tall grass and can't recover my brass easily.

It was good stuff in the early 00s.
90 bucks a 1000.. .
I shot at least 15 cases through my Gen2 17.

Blazer aluminum .40 was all my Glock 22 ate. It was cleaner and more accurate than Speer or other junk. Plus it was cheaper.

CCI Aluminum works perfectly fine in my Glock 19, 19x, 17's, and 43.  No issues whatsoever.

I actually prefer the aluminum ammo. In multiple calibers. Always shoot great in my Glocks.

I have never heard or read about any detriment to the aluminum case.

Blazer Aluminum is good stuff.  Bonus is it is light in the range bag too.

Yes. It's amazing how much lighter the ammo is.

But they are loaded on the warm side. At least until recently. They backed down the 9mm a little bit recently.

I shoot them all the time. Never had an issue.

I shoot a good bit of aluminum blazer and never had a problem, including in P80s that use Glock barrels.

I dont know if anyone remembers but CCI Blazer used to load JHP ammo with aluminum cases with Gold Dots. Came in the identical looking 50 round boxes. I guess the idea was to have cheap practice with bullet/ammo that you normally carry but I never had a problem with actually carrying that aluminum cases JHP ammo. (The loaded mags always felt half empty due to less weight). In my case it was Blazer Aluminum 40SW 180gr Gold Dot. Always shot just as good as the LE Speer ammo with chrome/brass cases. They made other calibers also, 9mm, 45 and 38Spl I believe.

Works just fine.

My question is if you bought it months ago, why isn’t it all down range by now?

In all fairness, the Blazer line used to be just aluminum and they were in pretty obviously different boxes. Now that there is "Blazer Brass" and Blazer with aluminum cases, and they are in very similar looking boxes IIRC, I can see how one could make the mistake.

Only precaution would be shooting it out of a straight blowback action.  KelTec recommended w/ their Gen 1 SUB-2000 to not shoot aluminium cased ammo.  W/ the Gen 2 it's not an issue.

Exactly true. Aluminum will NOT RUN in my 9mm PCC which is a Colt pattern blow-back.

Never had a problem with Blazer .380 ACP in my dad's blowback Astra.

They also make 9mm Makarov and those pistols  are blowback as well.

Fine for range use. All of my 9s work fine with that stuff.

I have shot a lot of Al case ammo in my Glocks no issue besides a box that I think had been dropped and many of the cases were oval shaped and not round.  I did have issues with it in my Walther PPS M1 because of the stepped chamber.

I like aluminum as well because I treat them just like steel. Use them for run and gun out in the desert where I am not worried about finding them when its time to police call. Both steel and AL feed through my guns just as well as brass cased, and tend to be cheaper as well. Don't worry, I still pick up my trash and brass after Im done but I leave steel and AL behind to piss off all those fucking brass vultures that creepily watch you and swoop in as soon as you leave. Because of them, I purposely find spots with large piles of freshly ejected brass left behind first and pick it all up before I choose a spot to start shooting.

I have shot tons of blazer aluminum 9mm and 45 acp. Also the "independence" branded aluminum stuff with zero issues.
Accuracy is even pretty decent.
I have shot several hundred rounds of the 9mm through my 16 inch barrel CMMG RDB carbine I built. It eats it with no issues.

I love it for when I want to shoot and not worry about losing brass.
I just with it was a cheap as it used to be.

It's good stuff.

The 357 Sig version was discontinued because the bottleneck aluminum cases suffered bullet setback in 357 Sig.

I buy aluminum case ammo to use at an indoor range I use since I can't pick up the brass there.  Works just fine.  Not my EDC ammo but not cause it doesn't go boom or wouldn't put a hole in someone but I prefer personal defense ammo for that.

I just bought 10 boxes from graff and son for $158.05.  I had  free shipping with them so this saved me $12.
I want to shoot them out of my ruger max 9 for target range  or when I go to an indoor range.

I almost wish they still made JHPs in Blazer ammo. I would love a 124 grain Gold Dot (standard or +P) in the lightweight aluminum case.

What mistake?

They run fine in Glock barrels.....like everything else.
