I couldn’t resist any longer, I called my Blue Label dealer today and ordered a black slide Glock 48 with Glock factory Night Sights.

I was hoping they’d finally dump the serrated triggers on these, but no such luck.  Guess that’s what the aftermarket is for.

Whoops didn’t see that. I never look in the worm hole of GD or partake in GD. Ever.

But nice!

GD is the last place I would look for actual advice on firearms on this site.

That's what the tech forums are for, so carry on here.

I wonder what the reason was for the two tone being made first? Was there a major call for one? Glocks were always black, minus a few of the newer colors/generations. I am not complaining but I would think the black slides are what people would want more, but that is just me.

No clue, but their "Silver Slimline" advertising campaign they did when they rolled out had a nice ring to it. So, advertising?

That's honestly my best guess.

When the 48 and 43X were originally announced, I wanted them in all black as well. Now, having owned a 48 for six months, the two tone has really grown on me.

Would have preferred this off the bat but I'm not going to spend money on a black 43X when I already have one in silver.

Damn...now if Shield Arms would just release their 15 round mags I just might get one of those...

I’ve got both in silver and they are outstanding... prefer the black but really not that big of a deal

I did go with Apex flat trigger in them and it was well worth it

GT in Austin said they have the black 43X in stock and ready to pick up the 22nd but the 48 will be a wait.

Between now and Monday if anyone sees any of the major online vendors taking pre-orders will you please post a link to this thread.

(retail not blue label...I've already used up my veterans pricing for this year)

Thanks in advance.

So now we will have people trying to sell the used original 43x/48 for retail plus?

I really don't see the hang up myself, it's in a holster probably in the waist band anyhow. But, it offers a market for those wanting the all black.

I'll keep my original because I still plan on sending it in to be bull nosed and nitrided black. Options are always a plus though!

Now that they're available in black, I'll burn my Blue Label coupon. Would prefer the front serrations to be gone also, but doubt that's going to happen.

Nice move from Glock's market department. They knew everyone would jump on the first offering, even though it was silver and everyone wanted black. Now they'll turn around and buy the black one.

Just like the G42 that nobody wanted, they all turned around and bought the 43.

I'm glad I held out for the black ones. I'll take a 48.

I have both in silver and the color doesn’t bother me at all.  Honestly, the silver has grown on me and I really like the “sticky” texture the silver slide has versus the texture of the black slides.  I have noticed the texture on my 19X also seems to be more “sticky.”

It was only a matter of time before Glock caved to political pressure. Since the release of the 43X and 48 six months ago, there have been complaints that the traditionally black role of Glock Pistol had been taken over by whites.
