What is the best & most reliable magazine extension baseplate for Glock ?
Taran tactical? Any others? |
|
|
The Glock brand +2 has served me well.
|
|
|
The Glock plus 2 and Taran Tactical extensions are both good to go.

|
Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun.

The base isn't as important as the spring IMO.
are you trying to stay within a certain length limit? Cause the Glock 24round magazines are a good option. For the price of an extension I just buy another magazine and work on my mag changes. |

Ive used Zev for years at work without issue.
I bought Taran Tactical ones when I carried a 45 and had nothing but problems. When I asked them about it they suggesting things like "sand here" and "put a drop of super glue" here...this isnt acceptable to actual use and they knew they had issues. To their credit they did give me all my money back. |

OEM 24 rounders, love those too. Also, Magpul 21 rounders run great for me. Usually when I get the itch to buy another OEM +2 for one of my G17 mags, I just end buying another Magpul 21, for just a bit more. No steel case = no problem, in my guns. |

Great to know guys
Thank you! Yeah I like the look of extension baseplates but for sure want it to be reliable. I used to have a Taran tactical one awhile back and never had any issues but also didn’t shoot much |

|
I've been using the +2 extensions from Pearce for both G26 and G45 for years now without any issues

Gun control is like trying to eliminate drunk driving by making it illegal for sober people to own cars

I should mention that Ghost MOAB+5 I use came with a longer spring, which I think is good. Seem to be the exact same design as the Arredondo +5s.
Truth be told, I only use it as a +4, as it's ridiculously hard to get that 23rd round in, just feels "wrong". |

Extensions are really there for teh competition crowd mostly if we are being honest. It's nice to have those mags drop free and clean every single time. TT's magplates are GTG, Glock +2's are GTG as well. |

I will add that I would bet that the current offerings from Taylor Freelance are also reliable. I haven't used one lately, but I bought a version for the old NFML magazines back around 2002 and it worked flawlessly on a NFML G22 and G17 magazine.
He sells a +30 called the Goliath I'd like to say that it's goofy and impractical, but I can't say that I won't buy one one day https://taylorfreelancestore.com/goliath/ |

Ghost Moab baseplates for all mags and either +2 or more Ghost Moad for some mags
Love them |

Glock +2 have been flawless for me. The Milspin +5 weighted extensions have been flawless as well. They look good to boot!

Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get!

I have several of the Ghost M.E.D kits and they have been solid.

I just found these. I have often wondered if anyone was going to make magazine extension that wasn't squared off if it didn't need to be concealed.

I like Arredondos and the factory glock +2. Also the glock 24 rounders. I have personally seen TT springs break, but that was a while ago. They may have improved the springs since then.

Any opinions on the Tyrant CNC +5? I got three of them in a package deal (supposed to be another brand). They certainly appear to be high quality and I'm thinking of swapping one to a G26 magazine that I was wanting to get an SLR +5 for.

#1 Glock factory.
#2 Taran |

I’m running OEM +2s and Arredondos currently. I have a handful of tti extensions on some training mags and find that I have to reseat the retaining pin after a few drops on the deck. After all the positive feedback above I’m going to order a handful or the Ghost offerings to try.

I've had the OEM +2 glock ones on two mags since 1993 still going strong with that gen 22 g17.
Also the only mag extensions I have on any glock mags so nothing to compare them to. |
