Fresh off the truck from getting worked over at Allegheny Arms. Beretta 92A1. I bought it back in 2010 and competed with it for a while, doing a few mods here and there. Recently sent it off to Allegheny Arms to get a full work over. Work done at Allegheny

So, I impulse purchased a 92GTS Launch Edition while picking up a transfer. I got the chance to shoot it today, but not before swapping around the factory full size stainless threaded barrel and compensator that I had previously installed on my old police trade 92 into the 92GTS: Which in turn allowed me to take my old 92 from this setup:  To one with a much smarter looking barrel (the brand new barrel from the 92GTS), which shot and functioned beautifully on the old gun. Rifling is cut sharp enough that there are concentric sparks and gas at the muzzle, which is a new one for me. Plus, it looks kinda nifty with a barrel that protrudes less:  Does 9mm "need" a compensator? No. Does it help? Well, the two guns feel notably different when firing, and it certainly does redirect some expanding gasses:  And a picture of the fun today:  |

I've seen some restoration videos where they use micro welders to fill rust pits and wondered if the same process was used on the roll marks. |
