Those that have this setup, did you prefer mounting the Venom straight to the slide, or did you use the Docter mounting plate included with the FNX? What hardware did you use? FN or Vortex?
I know you can mount the optic direct, but I see a handful of images using a baseplate. Does the height work better or is it more secure? |

I want to say I mounted it directly, but I no longer have mine. The irons cowitnessed nicely though.

Without, the irons co-witnessed right about center of the sight. With the plate they're lower 1/3 which I prefer since I won't use them much.
