I've got two p226 from the stamp & weld slide era that I'm looking to work a trade on... but I'm not sure what legit values would be. Gunbroker is all over the place... There are a few in the EE but there's no real clue what the actual selling prices were.
First
Brown box, no proof marks, white bar-dot sights, Exeter stamp, "Germany" slide, 2 mecgar mags

The other is a paper box W german slide, exeter marked, proof marks on slide & frame, large zigzap magazine.

Sigs and older HK stuff is hard to price. Pre COVID you could get trade in 226 and usp in the mid $300 range. Then they sort of doubled. Now they are coming back down again. I know cdnn has some German 40s around $400. Yours look nice. I would start around $500 and see.

I would tend to agree with this assessment.

Start high, you can always go lower

So W. German marked Sig pistols can go for a little higher but this is a Right Buyer at the Right Time situation.  What the others said on price is fairly in line with value but if you have the right buyer you might could squeeze an extra 50-100 dollars.

The 226 is a great pistol.
My 2 cents is everyone is gravitating toward Sigs other 9s like the 320, 365..... so it will be hard to get the price they deserve.

Thanks all - I've posted one on a local board, but I'm keeping the other for now. I'm looking into shipping options before I post here.

I like the older P series SIGs with the folded metal slides and internal extractor. I have a P220 of that era and its dead accurate for my hand and eyes.

Yours look nice, I'd say 5 to 6 hundred $.  Condition is everything.

I recently sold a P226 (with four mags) for $600.

Getting ready to do the same with a P228.

One to consider is ShipMyGun which is setup through Buds Gun Shop in Kentucky.

rolled steel or stainless slides?

I've got a 228 on the shelf. I should consider letting it go - but not quite yet.

I agree 100%

I have owned/shot P226's since the mid 80's and never thought I was going to relinquish them as primary handguns. I went to a pistol course last week

and I was the only person running an iron-sighted, hammer fired, DA/SA pistol. I held my own and passed the class, but I was at a distinct disadvantage vs the

other students. Thus, I have decided that it is time to 'go over to the dark side' and get on the striker-fired bandwagon.

I'll bet that I won't get too much for my P226 as I am sure there will be plenty on the market.

How do the frame rails look? That’s the determining factor for anyone serious about buying a stamped gun.

I think they are really cool guns. But I sold my 220 and 226. They were chunky, hard to detail strip, and didn’t really do anything better than what else is out there. That is reflected in the price. I am in the $600 club.

I still have a 239 because it was a gift from my wife. But it isn’t good for much. G19 sized with 8 rounds and a lousy first trigger pull.

Geez, pattern's too spread with that cylinder bore. Full chock...too much.
Modified.

But you was close enough I bet. Start high.
