If so, which one are you using and do you find it actually helps?

Are you referring to a "gas pedal" like this?

I recently installed one on a modified P320 XFIVE LEGION that I have. It is very useful.

I tried one on my P320, but the novelty wore off quickly, its only benefit is at the range, it won't fit in my holsters.

imho, not much sense developing reliance on something you can't use all the time, bad habits and all.

Have two I live them so much. One on my 320 , one on my 226.

I use an Align Tactical.

Lockwood uses the same one I do.

It is legal for carry optics.  I have a Werx holster that accommodates it.  Ghost holsters do also if you are more into a race gun setup.  They make a holster that is USPSA Carry Optics legal and I may get one.

I find that the original takedown lever sticks out just enough to be used as a thumb rest/reference point.

I didn't think about the holster aspect.
Currently using a Sarfiland holster.
Can anyone confirm it a thumb rest will still fit? I suspect not.

Yes.  Mine fits with both in the Safariland lvl 3 w optic and flashlight series.

Mine fits in my various safariland holsters. It doesn't stick out as much as it appears. It is pretty much even with the slide release.

I have both Align and Go Gun. I like the Align better. I too use  Safariland holsters. The Align would catch a slight bit on the draw but I rounded off the corner of the take down and now it performs perfectly.

I use a Go Guns one on my Beretta 92 that is my daily carry. Had to heat up my holster to get it to fit better, took all of 5 minutes. I like it.
