UPDATE:  I sent off my pistol slide and a 509t optic to Maple Leaf for machining and nitriding.

Curious if anyone has had a M&P pistol slide cut for a 509t optic?

I’m interested in which company, quality of the finished product and which sights give a cowitness?

Pistol on the left needs an optic

I have a slide getting milled by Nameless Arms right now.  However, I chose the 507K footprint since I am using an EPS.  They offer the 507C footprint, that works with the 509T.

You might be thinking of the 508T. The 509T uses a proprietary clamp mount.

Correct.  I already reached out to Nameless and he doesn’t offer the 509t on an M&P slide.

You can go with a cut for a plate.

C&H has one https://chpws.com/product/sw-m2-0-c-o-r-e-to-holosun-509t-steel/

calculated kinetics is also coming out with one soon. https://www.calculatedkinetics.us/collections/gun-accessories/products/smith-and-wesson-m-p-2-0-dogtag-optic-plate?variant=44692203045158

I haven't been all that impressed with C&H stuff though, the calculated kinetics stuff looks nicer.

I want to avoid plates and have a direct optic to slide interface.

It looks like Floyd’s Custom Shop or Maple Leaf will do this cut on an M&P.

I had Maple Leaf cut my 19x slide with their duty cut package and my 509t. They cerokoted it back to the oem Glock fde color. Turned out excellent and I couldn’t be happier. Since this is my current SHTF I didn’t want a plate and wanted it right.

With that being said my new M&P Metal is starting to replace my 19x, I love this pistol. Running it with a chpw spacer plate and a holosun EPS.

I had my 2.0 .45 acp M&P done by DP Custom Works, LLC down in NC.  Had him do a CZ P07 for me a few years back and took the .45 to him as well.

You can contact him dp custom works llc

He'll need to know what optic you want it milled for.  You can see the various sights he can install by looking through the website - or call him on the phone, e-mail him.  Nice guy.  Does great work.

Here's my .45 with a 407CX2 and night sights with a satin nickel finish on the slide.  I tried nitride on a couple of slides and not happy with the wear characteristics.

Shoots great, too.  That's why it was worth it, for me, to put the extra money in it.

When my wife goes shooting she shoots that big hard kicking .45 better than she shoots her M&P Equalizer (also has a red dot on it).  I always heard the M&P .45s shot better groups than the 9s and .40's.  This one shoots pretty darn good with 230 grain FMJ.

I had Floyd's cut mine for a direct mount. Nothing negative to report, and pretty quick turnaround at the time.

@yamahawarrior89

That looks really nice.   A couple questions:  do the factory sights have any cowitness?  Is your slide refinished in any way?

Yes, it is right at the bottom of the window.

I didn't get it refinished. I just taped off the the slide and used alumahyde in black on the machined area. They do some fancy refinishing if that's what you want, but I'm a cheapass

Thanks for the additional explanation.

.I’m also considering doing my own local AlumaHyde refinish.  It wouldn’t be the first slide where I did a garage refinish using g AlumaHyde

I had atei cut one for a 509t with irons forward. I still need to send it off to dp custom for front serrations as atei doesn't or didn't do anything above the ledge on the front.

Just a thought.  I purchased a complete M&P optic ready upper (complete slide, barrel and RSA)  from Pistol Parts Planet (brand new take off) for $365 and then sold my factory non-optic cut 2.0 upper online to someone for $250.  So my total cost was $115 and I now have a factory optic cut upper, which includes the suppressor height sights and front serrations.

That’s a good way to work it if you want the factory optics cut.

But with this pistol I don’t want to use a plate with a few tiny screws to attach the 509t, as the 509 uses a machined interface that looks similar to a Picatinny slot.

I’m having the slide direct milled so I can take advantage of the 509t interface, which IMO is a superior interface design.
