What are your favorite non 1911 .45 ACP handguns folks? Please share your favorites and pictures as well.
To start with there are many but I like my S&W 4566 TSW and also don’t own one considering getting the CZ 97 BD and the FNX 45 tactical. |

Let's see:

My favorite, non 1911, .45 acp is my Glock 21. I don't have a picture of it oddly as I have pics of everything else. It's a pretty plain Jane 3rd gen with Trijicon night sights. It has pink colorfill and a pink Hogue grip sleeve on it. I wasn't a fan of the grip because it always seemed hard to hold but with the Hogue on it feels great. I go back and forth between the factory barrel and an extended Storm Lake match barrel with two compensator cuts in it.
The first one I ever bought was back when they first came out. It was big and bulky but extremely reliable and accurate. I learned to shoot very well with it so I've always tried to keep one in the stable since. I think I want to try a Gen 4 with the different grip modules and see if it's worth going with the newer model. I'm sure y'all didn't want to see a girlified glock anyway lol. |

Not my favorite, but the MK23 is special in SOCOM history in that it was an offensive handgun. I joke that it is a crew served handgun with the laser/flashlight LAM, and didn't lend itself well compared to the FN ACP45's...

There can be only one.....Glock 21.
The SIG 220 gets honorable mention. |
|
In the last 50 yrs, I have had maybe a doz 45 pistols & revolvers.
For the last 20 yrs or so I settled on these three: S&W 945PC Attached File S&W 645-2 modified with 4in barrel & Ti cylindar Attached File SIG P220 Elite Carry Attached File |

I like my Sig P220 but I LOVE my USP-45.
I'm also a CZ-o-phile, I might want a CZ97 someday. Never shot one. |
|
G21 and P220 are probably the most popular.
I had a G4 G21 a few years back and it was very accurate, reliable, and super soft shooting. Currently, the only .45 launchers I have are 1911's. |
|
Bought the XD 5" Tactical because it was one of those few made with thumb safeties (so it was like my 1911) and then found out it shot pretty decent groups, too.
Bought the M&P 2.0 .45 Compact (4" 10 round mag) and found out it is more accurate than all the other M&P's I own (two 1.0's in 9MM and .40 and a 2.0 in 9MM). I'm carrying it quite a bit around the yard/sheds/property while doing outside work. |
|
I have been a G-21 fan for decades. Need to try a M&P series though. But, the new Sigs look nice.

not my picture, but mine looks just like this, except Ameriglo CAP sights & Apex trigger. I have owned a mess of .45 pistols, but this one just fits me. |

Glock 21 is my go to pistol...... it just feels right and shoots right

HK45C LEM is like a G19 that has grown up to be much more sophisticated

Own the FN and it's a great pistol, but after rounding out the rest of my 9mm stable, I'd pick up a 97B to go with my other CZs

How is it ? Especially compared to other heavier (albeit older) all meter non 1911s like the S&W 4566 or the new plastic fantastic double stack FNX 45 ? |

HK in general, USP, HK45, Mk23, but specifically the HK USP Expert and Elite models.

I was just thinking how I wish someone made a double stack steel framed .45 with at least a 13rd capacity.
Unfortunately, 10rds is all anyone's come up with. |

Glock 21SF, 30SF, 41
The 30SF at a premium if under a 10 round limit. |

Deleted to spare myself from additional but justifiable ridicule...
