Here are some photos of my Colt XSE .38 Super LWT Commander which I converted to Winchester 9x23 in April. This is my primary carry pistol. Since purchasing it new early this year, I've added a narrow thumb safety, beavertail grip safety, and checkered steel mainspring housing all from Wilson Combat. Also, a set of XS Sight Systems Big Dot 24/7 tritium sights, custom NJSP Alumagrips, and Nowlin Winchester 9x23 barrel. I keep it loaded with Winchester 9x23 125 gr. Silvertips in Wilson Combat 9-round .38 Super magazines. I did all the work myself and couldn't be happier with the finished product.

This is my first Colt. It was given to me by my Father for Christmas. Brand new series 80 Government model. He bought himself a .44 Magnum and a S&W .500, but I didnt get any pics of those. I've got some big plans for this one though...

Bought this for sentimental reasons. Paid to much for the condition it was in. Took it all the way apart. Got rid of some rust and a little pitting. Stripped it and gave it some TLC when I put it back together. Grip was missing some wood around the mag release, so that got smoothed out. Keeping my eyes open for some newer grips.  You can see some of the pitting in the pic below.  |

Thats a beauty of a Colt, very clean I like!! How do you like the XS sights ?? I have read about them and like the idea, just wanted to ask someone who has used them. I think I want to put a set on my M&P9 ........ when my permits come in and i get to bring it home that is

Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless Serial number says it was manufactured in 1912   I have before pictures, it was in need of someone who cared. Looked like it had been living in the bottom of a toolbox out in some guys garage since the '30's. The grips are cheap knockoff replicas, I have the original black plastic grips, but they have gotten kind of brittle so that's why the fake colt wood grips are being worn. Like a new pair of pants. I also put these grips on since I do take this gun out and shoot it occaisionally and i'm pretty sure the wood grips will hold up better for range use. It stays in the box 95% of the time now. This one and the Savage 1907 i have are the closest thing to 'safe queens/presentation only guns that i have. The rest are for shooting. I'm in the process of cleaning up and shadowboxing the Savage 1907 as well. Then I'll hang them side by side...or use them for bookends or something. |

If you don't mind me asking, were did you get the frame? Anyhow, this may be out of place since it's older than 1911 but here is my first Colt firearm. 1877 Colt Lightning w/upgraded Ivory grips dated 1894. This is colts first double action model which may have been used by people like Billy the Kid. The Colt D.A wasn't all that realiable but this one works just fine.  |
I got the frame, stryrofoam and green felt at Hoby Lobby. It's a big box store that carries everything for arts & crafts...and hobbies think i spent around $25 on all of it |
