I am pretty happy with the purchase, should be a good base gun. Although we have to get rid of the made in Brazil markings

Imbel did make those frames. SACS used to work them over and call them the Super Tuned Champion.

I am no expert, and my memory isn't worth shit these days, but from what I remember, at least during the mid 00's to 10's... The SA or that era, the slides and frames were all forged and finished at Imbel in Brazil (minus the once great custom shop). The N serial numbers were completely finished in Brazil and marked as so. The NM serial numbers were something like 51% complete in US, so no Imbel markings. The N guns during some years had 2 piece barrels, which weren't really liked by many. The NM guns generally seemed to be fit a little better, but the N's were still good. During that time frame, the NM guns were more desired because of fit and finish and the no Imbel markings. Generally it seemed that smiths using them as base guns didn't seem to care. The SA guns were well liked. |

Generally it seemed that smiths using them as base guns didn't seem to care. The SA guns were well liked. Not quite. I think there was rough forgings from Imbel that were finished machined and fitted in the NM series. Those did not have made in Brazil because they entered the US as basically an 80% receiver. All Springfields of all serial ranges could have 2-piece barrels. Both of my NM Loadeds had 2-piece barrels. Problems were extremely rare, but not zero. There was a few cases of photos posted of the chamber separating from the barrel tube. All serial ranges received the same fitment. TRPs and Lightweight Operators received more barrel fitment than the standard production pistol lines. |

| Well I ran about 100 rounds through it and have to get an extended beaver tail. Other than that she ran pretty good outside of one malfunction with the 10 round Wilson mag I was using. I think she hadn’t been shot in years and just needed to smooth out. Can’t wait to hear from nighthawk! |

For fans of Sparks leather, here is a very cost effective option. Dick was a master holster maker at Sparks, now on his own. Angry Dick Leather. Reviews on addicts are positive, ordered SS3’s for the commander and G48. |

After cleaning, I wiped the parts down with a paper towel to look at the wear. Baers are force fit, so it's kinda fun to look at the wear on my EDC. I have approximately 4700 rounds on this Baer, so not much. Very Pic Heavy SPOILER Click To View Spoiler |

^ there needs to be more of this at intervals. I'll get pics later on the ACW, it should be +/- 10k rounds between the original owner and myself. |

My Baer has 4700 from my friend and I, but he was the one who purchased it on GB from the original owner (a sheriff or deputy up north). This looks similar to 7k in my experience, but Baers are fit differently than my Springfields, so it's hard to say. The original owner did say he hardly shot it, but we all know how that goes with used guns. ![]() Attached File I have a Springfield with over 9k on it, but it's with Cahill getting tricked-out. My other 1911s have unknown round counts, except my Tisas 9mm Tanker. |
