Awesomeness. Ty.
Going to try one with an hkparts +2 extension using OEM spring and see what happens. |
|
Thanks OP. I can’t decide if I should pull the trigger on two or not. Kind of trying to save up for another pistol

Thanks OP. Glad to see these are available now. View Quote I’m somewhat surprised to see they are A) still in stock after 4 days with what was originally being reported as only 1K available and B) the relative lack of interest across various online forums. I’ve seen this sale mentioned on 3 different sites including here and the main HK forum. Each thread only has a couple of responses. I figured there were a lot of folks like myself just waiting to buy these! I guess I was wrong |

I still still have the 4 15 rounders that I got cheap on Black Friday still in the ziplock bag they shipped in. The 2 extra round capacity isn’t that big of a deal to me. Eventually I might grab a couple
|
|
When I eventually get a vp9 I'll get more 1u rounders. Did just get a 1e round vp40 mag to make 3. I know I need more and will eventually get more.

I had a chance to test out my new 17 rounders today, putting 400 rounds through 2 of them. Flawless function as I expected. Smooth loading and no matter how goofy I intentionally was while stuffing in rounds, I couldn’t induce any sort of jam.
There might be a slightly stiffer feel while loading but I’m not 100%. It could’ve been because they were new? The only other thing I noticed was getting the last round in while using a UpLula magazine loader was difficult or impossible. I guess with everything squeezed in there, there wasn’t room for the mag loader “arm”. I don’t think it’s a big deal, just something I noticed. |

Just so you know, G&R tactical is on the naughty list around here. You might want to delete the link. View Quote https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/-/118-291813/? I’ve never heard of them, they just popped up in a search. |

Shoulda bought one of these when I had the chance. Saw OP's post when HK Shop had them but thought $45 was a bit steep... didn't know they'd disappear off the interwebs! Shoulda bought at least one for carry.
Ah well... |

The 15 rnd ones pop up lightly used around $25 all the time. |

Are the 17rd mag bodies longer than the 15rd mag bodies or are they just using a different follower in a 15 round mag body?

The baseplate is ever so slightly thicker....so slight that unless you’re comparing the two side by side, you wouldn’t notice. |

It just now occurred to me that these 17 round mags, being the same size as the previous 15 round mags, will fit in my USP Compact using the Xgrip spacer and allow for a fairly low profile and reliable way to get 17+1 into the otherwise relatively low-capacity USP Compact....

Will HK ever offer retrofit kits for the 15rd mags? I would much rather convert the half dozen mags I already own.

Still in stock although the 10% discount is gone.
Delivered the price is just over $60 for one. Yikes. |

I’m very interested in seeing how far HK takes the magazine round count expansion...
I’d love to see some 12 round flush VP9SK mags...13 rounders turned to 15s, 15s into 17s Will it spread to the USP line? I bet they could make some serious $$ just in magazine or conversion kit sales alone |

I ordered one with the red follower yesterday $49.00 each, $59.89 tax/shipping. It states 7-10 days shipping, I'm curious to see how long it takes in light of the current situation.

I took apart one of the 17rd mags and installed the follower/spring/locking plate into a 13-rd VP9SK mag. I can now easily load 15rds into it and it still has about 5mm of leeway when pushing down on the 15th round. I'm pretty confident that it will work perfectly but I'm still going to test it out when I can get to a range (that's open).

Quoted: Got mine today. Holy hell, the 17th round is a bitch to load! View Quote There is a noticeable increase in the amount of pressure needed to fill it up. Also a Maglula won’t load that last round...not enough room for the “arm” and round #17 to fit at the same time. One good thing I noticed about the stronger spring though. I frequently have failures to lock back the slide on an empty mag due to my hand contacting the slide release lever. I don’t ride my thumb on top of it, more like sideways pressure. The last time I went to the range though I only used the 17 rounders to test them out and had ZERO failures to lock back. Time will tell if that continues but so far for me that has been a big plus. I read someone else report this as well... |

I have yet to have any issues loading the 17th round though, both of my mags are easy to load the last round. |
