What’s your budget?

Is it wet or dry primarily?

Look up the goruck ballistic trainers for dry or the Solomon outline GTX for wet.

I'm walking 3-5 miles a day after suffering from plantar factitious a couple years ago. I switched to ASICS GelVentures after someone here recommended them. I wouldn't buy anything else. YMMV

I favor hiking type shoes because of the support. Not good for running, but usually great for walking.

Head to the store and just start trying them on. What works for one size and type of foot might feel shitty for another.

Started walking last year. Looking for recommendations on a good walking shoe. Walk at a local park where the path is a mix of asphalt and gravel and a few 20 to 40 degree inclines along the way.

Thanks.

I've been walking every day for almost 700 days in a row. I've gone through 5 pairs of shoes, over 3,100 miles.

Your best bet is to go into a running store and get fitted. However, here's my $0.02

Brooks Ghost - very good, as long as your feet aren't too wide
Asics Gel Nimbus 23- better arch support, sole not as durable

I do NOT recommend New Balance, they were the worst shoe that I've bought.

My wife and I go on daily walks that are now turning into jogs for me sometimes.  I just bought a pair of Brooks Ridge running shoes and I'd have no problem only doing walks in them.

$60

Keep in mind the last time I bought a pair of Brooks was 2009 and wore them out by 2013 or 2014 and they ran me about $140 IIRC.  Some coworkers and I would run a lot more then, usually 10-20 miles a week.

I purchased some Nike Zoom Pegasus 38s and they are pretty amazing so far.
As expected the Asics only lasted about 300 miles.
