i've not read ANYthing about this provider on here so i figured i'd post and see if anyone has tried this.

DOT, DOH filtering. i mean the whole setup is amazing. i' have used this for about 2 months now with no issues whatsoever. primarily FF DOH

it has been amazing to see the sites it has blocked from arfcom alone

you can blacklist/ whitelist. block media, and certain apps from working...

need some others input as this seems too good to be true and not share

So this just changes the DNS resolver from cloudfare to NextDNS correct? So I asume NextDNS is better than cloudfare?

you would use Nextdns dns servers. and they are actually customizable for blocking

great if you have kids or are wanting to block anything they offer to block

It's a neat idea, doesn't do anything useful for me personally though.

Edit: just checked out of curiosity I had 90k lookups in 10 days (with 400k cache hits). So I'd be right around the 300k limit with cache and way over without. Also, Arfcom only has a ttl of 60 which seems pretty low.

are you creating a configuration?

be sure to check lists > advanced mode for enhanced blocking

My PiHole is basically free and serves my purposes well. Don't see the benefit in this as I cannot control it locally....

I didn't try nextdns out I was just looking up my current dns stats for curiosity's sake when I saw the 300k tier.

Neat idea but I dont trust cloud services if I can avoid it. Pinhole and untangle firewall for me. All day long.

As far as external dns, i use Quad9.

i've used quad9 primarily since the release..

once this goes live since it will be paid its highly unlikely i would pay for it. but we will see

quad 9 doh constantly stops working. i even moved back after the below:

today nextdns primary server went down. i had to switch to their 2ndary server on the account listed for it to start working again. first issue ever so far .

i would not even consider this product if quad 9 would stop working so much

looks like the service is down again.

change dns servers and i can browser again!
