Say you had a few flight hours, would you pick a jet and get upgraded and fly yourself.
Me yes. But i want to see what others think |
In some seriousness I would like to fly a 747.
But for sheer giggles I think I would just have to clear my schedule and try a little of everything. |
Some kind of electric plane. I want my electrical failure to also be an engine failure.

Cletus Frade approves. |
I have 20,000 hours. My Air Force One would be a Grumman Bearcat.
Wonder if its possible for my AirForce 1 to be a Focke Wulf?

B757-200. I still know how to fly an F/A-18A from all of my OFT hours at NAS Lemoore, but wouldn't want to sit in that for more than an hour at a time... especially at my age.

If I was president I'd be way too busy to fly.
But for this thought exercise, probably a stripped down F-35B, so I can land in more places. For regular transport, whatever supersonic passenger plane I can get because I hate flying. |
The Presidential AH-1Z Viper...since Marine One is a helicopter.
A-20G Havoc or A-26B Invader, both with the gun nose. Because I am prez, all the .50s will be live, as will the bombs.
Beechcraft King Air B200 twin engine turbo-prop.
I have a soft spot for turbo-prop engines. |

B-1B. With nuke capability restored. Simplifies things when, not if, I decide to nuke someone.
They won’t even let the president drive a car. No chance they’d be allowed to fly a plane. Probably not even passenger in a small plane.
I'd alternate between the pimped-out 747, fully loaded with waterbeds, stripper poles, and hot Ukrainian strippers, and the F-16, fully loaded with whatever the new hotness in ordnance is.
I'd be the 21st Century Hector Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Camacho, Jr. |
There would be a Concord coming out of a museum or a B1B would be getting modified and a new paint job.
ETA, for short trips it would be a fully restored A-26. |

George W Bush rode in the co-pilot seat of a S-3 for landing on the USS Abraham Lincoln for a speech 20+ years ago. He was a pilot in the ANG, but not sure if he got to fly it. That's a 4-person crew, so they may have swapped seats just for the photo op when landing. Who knows.
