Joy to the world, the Lord has come!

Those are not just lyrics to a song.  These words are a Jubilant Proclamation!

Joy ~ Great pleasure, exhilaration, delight, sheer gladness.
to the World ~ For everyone, everywhere.  No exceptions.
the Lord ~ He that is above all others.
has come ~ Arrived, here, in our very presence.

Christmas is tearing off the paper, opening the box and finding the greatest gift you can ever receive - Jesus Christ.  Christmas is the celebration of Christ’s birth.  Christmas is Jesus’s birthday party.  In all the hubbub we have created this time of year, let us remember that.

Let us also remember that ours is the greatest philanthropic organization in the history of the world. As Freemasons we give, and do, more to aid and assist others than any other group.  So, let’s celebrate G-d’s gift to us by giving to those less fortunate than ourselves.

Many people in our own communities are in great need of what we, as Freemasons, can provide.   Visiting a nursing home, reading to school children, assisting with a blood drive, serving at a soup kitchen, dropping loose change into a red kettle, donating clothing and toiletries to a homeless shelter, giving a couple of toys to a domestic abuse shelter, providing a few canned goods to a local food pantry or just listening to someone who needs an attentive ear will make a world of difference in people’s lives.  That $20 in your pocket will make a real impact in your community.  Please, give as their necessity may require and your ability permits.
