If the report is true they don't so much have "their own" experimental rail gun, they have ours.
Which U.S. DoD contractor hired the Chinese national electrical engineer? Too bad the FBI apparently only has enough in the way of resources to wiretap Trump Towers and none left over for trivial things like Chinese espionage. |

Someone in the comments says it's not a rail gun but a missle accelerator to eliminate the booster stage giving misses longer flight distance. No idea what it is but that's a short barrel compared to our rail gun. Our barrel looks about 20' long. My guess it's a laser of some type.

I recognize political propoganda too, but go into the deep dark basements at any large university science building and tell me what you see, hear, smell in those rooms (the ones with the real labs, real science isn't done in pretty offices with big windows)...You'll hear Mandarin and differing Indian dialects being spoken and smell lots of curry. They might not have our engineering capability right now, but they're education systems aren't concerned about feelz and what bathroom everyone is using. They are in it to win.
