By that I mean a good brand with great guns but you got the Friday afternoon just fought with the girl friend I want to go home and drink because I'm hungover and need to make production number gun and I think they might be firing me anyways. FOr me it was my S&W 629 PC When I bought my S&W 629 PC it was a disappointment, it had a bad crown (gouges) Chamfered Charge Holes were not in fact chamfered gritty cylinder chambers cracked grips (on the inside fixed with wood glue) hammer checkering was incomplete excessive hammer to frame rub cylinder timing off on one cylinder slightly gritty heavy trigger front sight roll pin crushed and a canted barrel. incomplete barrel engraving The only S&W fixed was the canted barrel because I did not want to buy the right insert to adjust it. I just fixed everything else except the engraving/black infill on the barrel. now it is one of my favorite guns  Attached File What is yours? |

| Colt 9mm 1911. Damn thing threw brass directly back at my eyes, every time. Always hit my eye protection which meant there was no way I could risk carrying it since I don’t wear glasses. Must have tried ten different brands of ammo, same problem. Sent it back to Colt and it came back without improvement. Finally sold it at a loss. |

| Model 70 Featherweight in .280 Remington. It was a Gift for my 16th or 17th birthday. It would not shoot for shit, didn't matter what ammo, scope, shooter anything you can think of. Missed 3 bucks with it and told my dad I had to sell it, that I had no faith in it. He understood. Sucks because it was beautiful and I love .280. I replaced it with a 30-06 A-bolt that shoots lights out. |

Thats like a 5-15 minute fix at worst if you have t replace the ejector. a lot faster if it's long enough to hit with a file. |

Ruger RPR in 308 I bought it, shot it a little, and sold it to an LE sniper somewhere in CenTex. He called me not long after asking wtf I did to it. I bought it brand new and somehow the barrel was an absolute mess, with pitting and scratches looking like a very well used Afghan AK or something. Having barely shot it and not being an LR guy at the time I didn't notice any major issues, but when he got it it wouldn't hold a group for crap. He didn't blame me for it and got Ruger to replace the barrel, after which it was fine. Just one of those things I guess 🤷🏻♂️ |

| I mentioned this in another thread, but my Series 70 Colt Lightweight Commander that was pristine. It shot several feet low and I just could never get it on target regardless of ammo, others shooting it, etc. I hated getting rid of it and regret it to this day but I just couldn't hit shit with it. It was a beautiful gun and I should have sent it off to get worked over. |

The only "bad gun" I ever had was a Rossi 38 snubnose. My first CC was this same one, but blued steel. I ran across another 90s vintage in SS. I always regretted selling the first one, so I bought it. It looked remarkably unused. Bought it. I soon learned why it looked so new. It could not cycle a full cylinder. May two, maybe 4, maybe 1, and lock up. The LGS gave me my money back. Shame it did not work. The first one ran like a clock. |
| Beretta a400 xplor 20 ga, I put about 500 rounds through it tinkering with it the whole time and could never get it to cycle anything besides expensive shells like Winchester AA’s, Fiocchi and Remington sts. Ironically I bought it because our A400 xcel 12ga ran like a sewing machine and would eat anything only having one malfunction out of thousands of rounds. |

Brand new Ruger Red Label 20ga O/U. What a hunk of shit. I was going between a Baretta Black Onyx 20ga and that. I didn't like the safety on the Baretta. What a mistake. The Ruger shot around corners and patterned like crap. Traded it for a Benelli Nova that shoots like a laser beam. Now I own 5 Benelli pumps. I just wanted a nice shotgun to hunt grouse. A walk in the woods with my son with a little class. F U Ruger Red Label. $1000 turd.

Stainless wyoming arms parker 45acp with 00XX serial #. Simular to a 1911, but is not a 1911. I paid $150 cash for it nib w/two 7rnd mags at a gun show in 91'. It was tight & had a sweet trigger & hit poa at 20 yards with 230gr hardball. But it couldn't make it through a mag without jamming every few rounds. Kept it few years, total disassembled several times to polish out the internal burrs & put a lot of rounds through it. But it still jammed with factory & reloaded ammo rn, hp & lswc. Man I know liked the hell out of it cause it was stainless, accurate, looked like a 1911, but wasn't a 1911 & was one of the first 20 made. he had several m1 garands, says take whichever one you want for that parker & $100. I ended up with a very good condition/shooting 43' springfield m1 that day. afaik he still got it, he did work with his "gunsmithing skills" off/on for a quite bit, And got it running like a singer sewing machine. |

My Model 28 Highway Patrolman. Back in 1980s, S & W was owned by AMC, which was at best lukewarm toward the 2A. The cylinder was tightly machined so after a few .38 Specials, .357 rounds were pretty tight. Also the ejection rod was drilled off-center at the front end! There were other issues as well, and when I tried to send it in they claimed it'd been worked on and wouldn't honor the warranty. |

Preban Armalite carbine that I bought new during the AWB. Couldn’t shoot more than a mag through it before it would fail to extract and require a cleaning rod to knock out the empty brass. That experience soured me on ARs for almost a decade. Those were my FAL years. And FALs, with their lack of accuracy, were what brought me full circle back to ARs. |

A kimber 1911 double stack .45. It was pretty much a single shot. I traded it to a small gun shop that I hung out at often. I told him it was a piece of crap. He sent it back to kimber and then sold it to a judge being next door to the courthouse. He sent it back to kimber two more times and it never worked right. This all happened over 20 years ago. |

Raven arms little zinc framed, 25 ACP. I knew it was a piece of junk but for $40 figured what the hell. They are actually not bad except for being in .25 ACP, you really don't want to dry fire them much though, still have never shot it 40 years later. |

Browning BDM by far! Was so stoked to buy one within first week of release! Complete POS, that went back to the factory several times. Before I traded it in on a NIB S&W 5903, which was leagues better. Leinad M-12 .380 was a close second. That POS was a complete paperweight. |

S&W 638. I’m generally a pretty good handgun shooter. I couldn’t shoot that thing for shit and the recoil sucked for what it was. Soured me on snubs forever. Not a gun but I have an LMT M4 upper with shitty machining on the barrel, barrel that was short on headspace (had to lap the lugs) and the LMT BCG had the worst machining I’ve ever seen on a BCG. |
