Some assholes’ version of capitalism means you can lie cheat and steal. And some of them succeed and abuse employees along the way. Someone here recently made a point about CEO pay having historically been 10-20 X the average employee and now is sometimes 400X. For every action……. The enduring popularity of the concept is a convergence of two mindsets.
The takers / entitled - these are the ones that 'seize the means or production!' resonates with. They have lived their lives feeling shorted and that they are owed something (which they take at every opportunity). To the idea is seizing and redistributing wealth is appealing to them as it means they get more stuff. The idealists - they are the dreamers who believe in the hypothetical utopian end state, where everyone is equal and nice and happy. They believe that once everyone is made equal, all strife and bad shit will fade away. They don't understand human nature, and blame capitalism for the intrinsic greed and selfishness of people. |

On paper it sounds good to a lot of people even if it always fails in practice. People assume they can do it better next time.
Given the current state of the economy in the US it’s going to sound good again. Stagnant wages, record inflation and a housing/rental market that makes home ownership a pipe dream for most under 30 today. Communism appeals to the have nots and always will. As the have nots increase so to do the communists. If they grow too large as a class you get a Marxist revolution one day. |

Many people take the path of least resistance. They don’t want to believe it’s not all going to be good. The somehow believe they can benefit from someone else’s labor without contributing. Yet these same people who did this during covid then complained about services and supply chain issues. Those same supply chain issues people had the exact same thought. How about I do nothing and just get govt checks at home.
Low IQ people. Low verbal intelligence. Unable to think critically. Have delusions they’ll somehow be in charge if there was communism. They become the most dangerous enemies to communism when they realize that they were useful idiots. Then the communism system gets rid of them as fast as possible for they become the most stubborn opponents of communism. People are lazy as fuck anymore.
