TV Dinners were awesome but we bought and baked the right away because with 7 people in the family  we lacked the space in the freezer.

Skake and Bake or Ah-so sauce made the best chicken or pork.

Appian Way was another popular pizza in a box. I think the price was super cheap back then too. Sold  for less than a buck. Not bad especially if you added some real pepperoni and mozzarella.

Yes, those weren't too bad, especially when a little extra mozzarella was added.  I haven't seen them for years, but will look for it at Walmart next time I go.

My Grandma used to make that stuff becasue she thought it would be a cool thing for me to eat. I can still smell it baking and the taste of the feet cheese on it. I miss the 70's

We used to add cooked ground beef or sausage plus extra mozzarella.  It was generic pizza but it was better than most of the frozen generic pizza you find in stores these days.

Don't remember those, but I was born in 83.
Question, what happened to Domino's/Pizza hutt, I mean they were fairly decent in the 80/90's but today are pure garbage.
Used to love the stuff crust pizza from PH, now it tasted like dog shit when I tried it a few years ago.

Couldn't agree more.  Both places used to have passable pizza.  Now there are frozen pizzas I'll turn to before either one of them.

You thought it was decent when you were a kid, it wasn’t. You were just thrilled to be eating pizza instead of meatloaf and lima beans.

Those boxed pizza's rocked.

Some of us lived in fly over states and had no access to designer pizza.

A large pizza today $15
Delivery Charge $3
Tip $3

Total cost for a pizza that cost the store $3 to make, $21.

That’s why I very rarely order it anymore.

Yeah not exactly a lot of Italian owned and operated  joints with brick ovens making real pizza from scratch in Southern Illinois in the 80’s. Nor were there trendy places that charged $8 a slice for wood fired organic gluten free dough topped with feta cheese pine nuts and kale.

You had Pizza Hut, Red Barron or this stuff. Those were your choices.

The Chef Boyardee pizza kits used to be much better tasting they they are now. They've changed the sauce several times and now it is much thinner than it used to be, but the pizzas still taste decent.

If you don't like eating doughy pizza, cook the crust for 8-10 minutes before adding the sauce and toppings. Then cook until the crust has browned and the cheese is melted.

Add the cheese of your choice. The cheese packet in the kit is just there to enhance the flavor. It's not meant to be the primary source of cheese.

I prefer buying blocks of whole milk mozzarella cheese and grating it myself because it has better flavor than the skim milk shredded packages.

Nope, my mother is an excellent cook, made everything from scratch.  She spent the summer freezing corn and beans for the rest of the year as we were dirt poor.  Ate a lot of rabbit and deer.

wash the pizza cutter asap, let dry, then there's nothing to do but eat the 'za and throw away the box and napkins.
Of all the crimes committed against the English language, calling pizza “za” is the blackest.

What I really miss from the 70's were all the braless women you'd see out in public with their boobies jiggling and hard nipples poking through their tops.

But then the padded bra had to show up and ruin it all.

The only pizza in our house. Late 50's through 70 or so. My mother would crumble some raw hamburg on top before baking.

Yep, in the 60's, loved the sauce.
I also miss the cans of Italian Meatball Stew, that went out in the early 80's IIRC.

Fixed them often because we lived in a small town without a decent pizza joint and frozen ones weren't available. We did help them along with some browned hamburger and sausage, though.
